Delta Passengers Reading Up on South Dakota
South Dakota and the Governor's Office of Economic Development are getting extra attention at higher altitudes. That is because of a multi-page feature in Sky Magazine, Delta's in-flight publication.

"This piece is really an excellent showcase of South Dakota's business climate, quality of life, and outstanding corporate partnerships we have," said GOED Commissioner Scott Stern.

The 30-page profile is chock-full of information on South Dakota's key industries, top faces in business, advertisements from communities and companies, as well as rankings and statistics highlighting the state as a great place to do business.

Stern said that the piece has been utilized to reach those that my have not been on a Delta flight during June as well.

"We really wanted to make the most out of this opportunity, and make sure this profile piece got in front of as many eyes as possible," Stern said. "So, we ordered extra and sent them out to all of our active and passive prospects."
Recruitment Website to Relaunch by Year's End
GOED's recruitment site,, is about to undergo some major changes. The site, which was last redesigned in 2011, is going to be updated and modernized to reflect the changing needs of the business community.

"We are really excited for the upcoming updates to," said GOED Commissioner Scott Stern. "Our goal is to offer our existing companies and prospects a more streamlined, functional user experience that highlights the benefits of doing business in South Dakota."

GOED has awarded a contract for the site to Development Counsellors International (DCI), and the redesigned site is expected to go live before the end of the year.
