  GOLDEN GOALS

Greetings!

Some dedicate their lives to accomplishing great goals—like climbing Mount Everest, running a marathon, or even reading one book every week.

Some want to travel the world. Some want to author a book. Some want to start a foundation to help the needy.

So seriously, what goals do you have for evangelism?

Better yet, what goals does God have for you?

Why not ask Him? Why not discover the dreams and divine assignments God has been planning for you?

Paul had great personal goals for reaching people with the Good News of Jesus. Why? Because God put that dream in his heart.

“To the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some… Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.” 1 Corinthians 9:22, 24 NKJV

And Paul pursued this goal relentlessly—not like someone shadow-boxing or simply spewing hot air. This was his life mission. This was his big kahuna.

Paul was a one-string guitar: EVANGELISM.

And he loved, loved, loved his work.

Why?

Because he loved his Lord. He knew he had been the chief of sinners, and he was overwhelmed with gratitude that Jesus had stopped him on the road to Damascus and rescued him from his pride and self-will.

Paul never got over being saved.

Neither should we.

Someone told us about Jesus. Someone prayed for us. Someone cared enough to speak up. And because we are eternally grateful, we now return the favor—with zeal and gladness.

So what is your golden goal?

One person a week?

One meaningful faith conversation a day?

Training others to share their story?

Praying daily for five people who need Jesus?

Don’t just hope evangelism happens. Make it a goal. Pray over it. Write it down. Pursue it.

Ask the Holy Spirit today: “Who do You want me to reach, and what goal do You want me to pursue?”

Then run your race to win.

The greatest goals aren’t merely about what we accomplish on earth. They are about who joins us in heaven.

People who relentlessly pursue God-given goals can change their world.
