Spring is a sign of fresh starts, new beginnings, and opening season for many area golf courses! With Easter Sunday and the final day of The Masters culminating on the same day this year, it will be a day to remember! The pandemic seems to be behind us after three years of uncertainty, and we continue to see many new golfers entering the game of golf – especially women and children. 

This weekend many of us will be glued to our TV screens for this year’s Masters Tournament. We all know one thing---The Masters will not disappoint us. It will be an exciting four days of pure golf heaven as we tune in to watch the 2023 Masters on April 6--9. This year’s event will be very special as the 2023 Masters champion will be crowned on Easter Sunday for the 18th time overall in Masters history, and the first time since 2012 when Bubba Watson won in a playoff.

Who will get to wear the coveted green jacket this year? Will World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler repeat his magnificent Masters' victory in 2022? How about Scottie’s Masters Club Dinner menu? ... Sounds delicious and fun!  Everyone invited to the Champions Dinner on April 4 will be enjoying his menu picks!

Tournament excitement will be in over-drive, as we witness the best golfers in the world, who qualified for an invitation to the Masters, compete for the glorious green jacket from both the PGA TOUR and the LIV Golf Tour! The first of four major championships in professional golf, The Masters will be contested April 6--9, and unlike the others, it is always held at the same location, Augusta National Golf Club, a private course in the southeastern United States, in the city of Augusta, Georgia.

Arlington Lakes Golf Club one of Chicago Northwest’s challenging and family-friendly golf courses offers many fun events throughout the year.  On April 20, Arlington Lakes will be hosting their annual Spring Senior Scramble. This popular spring event is a great way to kick off the golf season. Don’t wait to sign up below as this event fills up fast!

Miniature golf is something the entire family can enjoy and excel at!  You don’t want to miss Crown Point Community Library’s Miniature Golf Event & “FUN”draiser on Saturday, April 22. The entire Library will transform into a unique 18-hole miniature golf course for the day. Players, of all ages, will enjoy putting through the library stacks, down the staircase, and finishing at the 19th hole “Family Fun Zone,” located in the meeting rooms, to enjoy free refreshments, and fun activities. Mark your calendars for the upcoming Library Mini Golf Event, on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 10am-3pm. 

Tickets are on sale now at the Crown Point Community Library. All the proceeds go towards expanding library services and programming, for all ages. Tickets are $5 per person or $20 for a group of five. One round of golf (putters, balls, and scorecards will be provided to players) and admittance to the Family Fun Zone is included. Beat the line on the day of the event and purchase your tickets early. Tickets will be sold at the Internet Café the day of the event also.

Additional parking will be available at the Wheeler Middle School parking lot. Molly the Trolley will provide free transportation to and from the Library. Boarding every 30 minutes!
