Naperville’s Springbrook Golf Course Now Open Following Extensive Renovations

Springbrook Golf Course, one of two Naperville Park District golf facilities, reopened in mid-June following an extensive renovation project that took place in fall 2022. While the construction was completed before the end of last year, this year’s winter-into-spring weather presented challenges as did the late spring/early summer drought. Therefore, it took more time than expected for the turf to become established. However, play is back in action at the nearly 50-year-old course. The renovation project, which came in under $3.5 million included:

  • Complete rebuild of all tees and bunkers
  • Reconstruction of two ponds and two bridges
  • New collection areas and mounding at green surrounds
  • Additional drainage improvements

NWI Country Clubs Host Inter-Club Championship With Goal Of Expanding To Other Clubs

Four country clubs across Lake and Porter counties in Northwest Indiana are teaming up to showcase golf across the Chicagoland/Northwest Indiana Region.

Recently, members from Innsbrook Country Club, Valparaiso Country Club, White Hawk Country Club, and Youche Country Club gathered for what has been dubbed the “Inter-club Championship” at White Hawk.

The Inter-club Championship is in its second year, with the goal of bringing together players of all skill levels across the Region, White Hawk Country Club Committee Member Jim Crook explained.

“The concept started about a year and a half ago — getting the country clubs and golf courses in the Region to host an event where golfers of all skill levels have a format to compete in,” Crook said.
