September is the perfect month for everything golf! It’s a chance to get a few more rounds of golf in before the leaves start covering the ground and the first few snowflakes are in the air. It’s a time look back on our golf season and enjoy the memories of fun with family and friends. It’s also a time to thank a veteran and to remember those we lost on September 11 by getting involved with one of the many veterans programs or outings available. Home of Will County’s “Amen Corner”, The Sanctuary Golf Course is one of Chicagoland’s favorite golf courses for local golfers and those visiting Chicago and the suburbs! If you haven’t played in their “Golf and Fish” Event, now is the time to sign up! Registration starts on September 6th and the event takes place on Sunday, September 25th. All of their events are popular, but this one sells out fast!!  

The Odyssey Golf Foundation located in Tinley Park, IL is excited to again be hosting the Midwestern Amputee Golf Association (MWAGA)* Golf Outing on September 9th, 10th & 11th this year. Registration closes on September 2nd. 

About the MWAGA

MWAGA is headquartered in Northbrook, IL and includes Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota in its region. Our association is under the larger umbrella of the National Amputee Golf Association (NAGA: nagagolf.org) headquartered in Smyrna, TN. They do more than play golf! They donated to the firemen in NYC after 9/11, they have donated to an orphanage in Haiti; they give yearly academic scholarships to amputees and family members of amputees; they conduct “First Swing” golf clinics for disabled golfers; and one of their members traveled to Boston to mentor some of the Boston Marathon amputees.

Arlington Lakes Golf Club offers some of the best golf and events in the Chicagoland area. If you have not hit the links this summer, you still have time to enjoy golf at this fabulous venue! This 90-acre golf course offers something for every type of golfer. September is a great month at Arlington Lakes Golf Club to enjoy their upcoming two-day annual 36-Hole Arlington Amateur Championship on September 10 and 11. The Arlington Amateur Championship is open to any male or female 18 years and older. Also, Arlington Lakes Golf Club is an outstanding location to host your next outing, banquet or special event!
