Dear Friends,
Wishing everyone very Happy Holidays!
This afternoon the City Manager's Office shared the news that the City has appealed San Francisco’s Final Environmental Impact Report on deadline. We applaud and thank our Council representatives for their deliberations and decision; a milestone for the City's work on this issue to protect health and livability.
The City’s appeal letter is included in the City’s announcement.
“The City of Palo Alto has appealed the San Francisco Planning Commission’s November 20, 2025, decision to certify the Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) for the San Francisco International Airport's Recommended Airport Development Plan (RADP), as outlined in Planning Commission Motion No. 21870. The appeal asserts that the FEIR inadequately addresses environmental impacts such as noise and air quality due to its reliance on future growth assumptions rather than current conditions, conflicting with CEQA requirements.
THANK YOU to all who reached out to the City Council to take action! This is an important milestone to break the status quo. Please be sure to thank the Council members that you have reached out to.
PSA: If you are not yet on the City’s email list to receive communications on aircraft noise, please subscribe at the bottom of the City’s webpage - Regional SFO Airport Coordination/Airplane Noise, “Subscribe to Receive Airplane Noise Updates.”
