Wow, what an exceptional week of skiing during the 35+ World Championships held at Sunset Lakes! Jack and Lelani Travers and their team did an outstanding job hosting the biggest ever World Championships. I want to congratulate all of the athletes for their great performances and inspiring sportsmanship. With nearly 400 skiers from 29 countries in attendance, Dawn and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing many of our old friends and meeting new ones. For me, to ski in the Worlds was a great experience and it was even more exciting to watch six of the eight slalom gold medals awarded go to skier on GOODE skis!. Thank you for choosing GOODE.
Sincerely,
Dave Goode President/Founder

|
 | Team GOODE's 35+ World Championships gold medalists. |
Sunset Lakes was a sea of colors as the flags of 29 countries flew over last week's 35+ World Water Ski Championships in Groveland, Fla. But it was orange and black that were the most conspicuous on the slalom podiums as GOODE skiers won six of eight golds and 14 of 24 slalom medals.
Team GOODE swept the top spot on all four Women's slalom podiums, as April Coble-Eller (35+), Lori Krueger (45+), Joy Kelley (55+), and Ruth Johnston (65+) took home gold medals. Additional GOODE Women's skiers earning medals were Florence Trible (bronze, 35+), Patricia Cordiero (bronze, 45+), Cyndi Benzel (silver, 55+), Kandise Bertelson (55+), and Shirley Coble (bronze, 65+).
On the Men's side, Chet Raley and Richard Lambert won gold medals in Men's 55+ and 65+, respectively. Jay Leach (bronze, 35+), Lonnie Harris (bronze, 55+) and Dennis Longo (bronze, 65+) also earned medals.

Astronaut, buoy head and Parrish family friend
Kent Rominger profiled in WaterSki magazine
|
From WaterSki magazine:
Space pioneer Kent Rominger operates in one mode: fast. He has hurtled into orbit at 17,500 mph on the shuttles Columbia, Discovery and Endeavour. He has sliced through the clouds as the pilot of a Navy F-14 Tomcat, at speeds up to Mach 2.34. These days, Rominger is content to scramble dirt bikes just ask him the tale about his favorite accident and he'll happily oblige - and slice through the wakes, skiing behind his buddy Mike Parrish's boat on Lake Pickett in Orlando, Florida. Rominger, 58, spends his days strategizing for the space-launch division of the ATK Aerospace Group, working on the logistics of putting a human on Mars. In town recently for work and for play, Rominger reminisced with Parrish about friendship, skiing, and the past and future of space travel. For the full article, click here. Customize your skiing with the all new GOODE XT series
|
Fresh off offering water skiing's first and only completely customized graphics, GOODE Skis is providing even more ways to customize your skiing with three new additions to the world-record breaking XT lineup: the Nano XTT™, Nano XTM™ and Nano XTW™.
The three new skis compliment GOODE's flagship Nano OneXT™ by catering to skiers who prefer either narrower (traditional) or wider skis. See which model is best for you with this ski comparison chart.
"The Nano OneXT has been one of the most well-received skis we've ever had," said Dave Goode, founder and president of GOODE Skis. "But while the XT is going to be the right ski for probably 80 percent of skiers, there is still that 20 percent that likes the narrower or wider skis that we've been very successful with before. We are taking the best characteristics of the XT and adding them to these new widths so that no matter your preference, there is a world-class GOODE for you."
The differences in the new skis are primarily the width, with the second "T" in XTT standing for "traditional" width (narrower than the XT), and the "M" and "W" in XTM and XTW standing for "mid" and "wide" (wider than the XT), respectively.
While the new skis have a width and shape unique for each model, all feature the ground-breaking AsymRocker™, an asymmetrical rocker technology that first debuted with the Nano OneXT. AsymRocker creates a longer rocker on the offside, and a shorter rocker on the onside, completely eliminating any differences between on- and off-sides and leading to better, smoother and more consistent turns that build angle and add buoys.
