GOP REP. MIKE TURNER FAILS TO TURN

NEW DOD LAW PROCEDURES FOR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM COMPLAINTS INTO A GOP WIN;

IT'S ACTUALLY A MRFF VICTORY!

Christian nationalist GOP Rep. Mike Turner, whose National Defense Authorization Act amendment to shut MRFF down backfired spectacularly, tries to save face, claiming to The Dayton Jewish Observer that his epic fail, which ended up giving MRFF more power than ever, was really what he wanted all along!

Seriously, that is how he’s trying to spin it!

According to the article: “Turner says the final approved amendment — rather than his House version against Weinstein and the MRFF — had been his aim all along.”

Really? He set out to shut MRFF down, but his aim

all along was really to give MRFF more power?

Turner also told The Observer that he just named MRFF, and only MRFF, by name in his amendment as an example to “start the discussion.” Sure, he wasn’t really going after MRFF. He just happened to pick MRFF out of a hat to use as an example?

And, most laughably, Turner told The Observer that it’s only MRFF’s tactics that he objects to, not MRFF’s mission. Say what? This Christian nationalist congressman doesn’t object to MRFF’s mission of stopping Christian nationalism? Right.

It seems that Rep. Turner is now epically failing

at trying to turn his epic fail into a win!

New Law Requires DOD Procedures

For Religious Freedom Complaints

By: Marshall Weiss

The Dayton Jewish Observer, the Jewish paper in Christian nationalist Rep. Mike Turner’s home district in Ohio, interviewed both Mikey Weinstein and Rep. Turner about Turner’s failed attempt to shut MRFF down via an amendment to the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act.

Although his attempt to shut MRFF down completely backfired, giving MRFF more power than ever, Rep. Turner tries his darnedest to spin his epic failure into a victory, leading The Observer to say at the beginning of the article:

“U.S. Rep. Mike Turner and Military Religious Freedom Foundation President/founder Mikey Weinstein both see it as a victory — against each other.”

Dear Mikey,

After reading Mr. Weiss’ excellent article in the Dayton Jewish Observer I was struck by Fundamentalist Christian Theocratic Congressman Mike Turner’s absurd comments. Clearly he’s either lying about his support for the religious rights of service members and veterans or he believes only fundamentalist Christians posses freedom of religion in our country. Either way his moral and intellectual vacuity were on full display both in his proposed and failed amendment and in his comments quoted in the article.

The fact is that a ridiculously high number of service members and veterans have suffered from marginalization, religious coercion, intimidation and even being passed over for promotion, disciplined and sent to the front lines in combat zones due to their faith or no faith at all. As a veteran there was a time when I was in fact denied medical care at a V.A. facility because of my Jewish faith. Thankfully, due to the direct intervention by Mikey Weinstein and the Military Religious Freedom Foundation I and numerous other Jews, as well as veterans representing all faiths and no faith at all now receive excellent care at that same V.A. facility. If Representative Mike Turner and his Fundamentalist Christian Theocratic co-conspirators had their way any fundamentalist religious supervisor, doctor, practitioner, senior or commanding officer could Bigfoot the religious liberties of any veteran or service member and that is fundamentally and Constitutionally Un-American.

Respectfully,

Akiva David Miller

Army Struggling to Spot and Report Extremism, Audit Shows

Disturbing new report reveals that many

Army personnel don’t even understand that

certain extremist activities are extremist activities!

According to the report, one out of 10 Army personnel responding to a survey didn’t identify violating an individual’s constitutional rights as an extremist activity that is prohibited.

Two out of ten respondents didn’t identify donating money to white supremacist groups as being prohibited, either.
