2021 PECO STEM Teaching Fellows Program

The PECO STEM Teaching Fellows Program is a FREE, intensive workshop series designed for Philadelphia K-8 public school teachers. The 7 after school sessions will take place from mid February through early April, 2021 (dates to be determined). These virtual workshops will cover multiple topics related to STEM teaching and learning. The Fellows will then produce Capstone Projects, which are engaging STEM lesson plans to implement in their classrooms. Applications will be accepted until Friday January 29, with decisions made by Friday February 5.

The PECO Fellows Program will provide critical professional development, Act 48 credits, stipends, and assistance in implementing Capstone Projects. Apply HERE.

  • Green Ribbon Schools. Pennsylvania has partnered with the U.S. Department of Education's Green Ribbon Schools Program to recognize USDE Green Ribbon Schools, District Sustainability Awards, and Postsecondary Sustainability Awards. Pennsylvania Statewide STEM Ecosystem

The Pennsylvania STEM Coalition and the Pennsylvania Statewide STEM Ecosystem (PSSE) offer a series of STEM meetings throughout the year. In partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Education, these events are an excellent opportunity to learn about regional and national STEM updates. You can join the listserv HERE.

Our next PA STEM Coalition Meeting will be held from 4-5 PM on Thursday January 14, and will feature "Social Justice and STEM." This is the Zoom link, and preregistration is not required. Please email Betsy Payne for details.

Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem &
Philadelphia STEM Equity Collective

The Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem is one of 89 national STEM Ecosystems and convenes STEM stakeholders to increase collaboration, coordination, and access.

In partnership with GSK. The Philadelphia STEM Equity Collective is a 10-year initiative that seeks to increase the number of individuals from underrepresented populations entering STEM careers.

Philadelphia STEM Education Directories

The Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem just launched its new STEM Education Directory. The Program Directory lists out-of-school time STEM activities for Pre-K-12 children and youth in the Philadelphia area. The PD Directory includes STEM PD offerings for both classroom teachers and informal educators. We continue to accept listings for both.
