PA STEM Coalition - October Meeting and Beyond

The Pennsylvania STEM Coalition, coordinated by The Pennsylvania Statewide STEM Ecosystem (PSSE) offers free twice-monthly webinars on timely STEM topics.
Pre-registration is preferred but walk-ins are welcome.

Our next STEM Coalition meeting will cover PA SMART 2021 and will be held on October 7th 2021, from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Governor Wolf created PAsmart to help students and workers prepare for the jobs of today and tomorrow

Led by the McKinney Center's Dr. Nancy Peter, our panelists have received PAsmart Grants and will describe how they crafted their proposals. how they implemented their programs, and what advice they can provide. Our guests will be:

Explore STEM Philly - Seeking STEM Volunteers

Through Explore STEM Philly-Chester, teachers work with PEF to secure and schedule STEM career professionals for classroom presentations. Our volunteer speakers undergo training, through PEF helps them design presentations that maximize student engagement.

Our program will begin in January 2021, but we are accepting applications now. To apply and for details, go HERE.

Seeking McKinney UPenn Work-Study Student

The McKinney Center is seeking a UPenn work-study student for the current academic year. The STEM Project Assistant will help with all STEM education projects, programs, activities, and initiatives at the McKinney Center They will participate in literature reviews, professional development design and implementation, and quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation.

Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem &
Philadelphia STEM Equity Collective

The Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem is one of 94 national and international STEM Ecosystems and convenes STEM stakeholders who are engaged in the Ecosystem’s goal of promoting just and equitable access to STEM opportunities for children and youth in the Philadelphia

In partnership with GSK, the Philadelphia STEM Equity Collective is a 10-year initiative that seeks to cultivate STEM equity, access, and inclusion in STEM career pathways for Philadelphia students who are traditionally underrepresented in STEM occupations.

Philadelphia STEM Education Directory

The Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem has launched a new STEM EDUCATION DIRECTORY. The Program Directory lists out-of-school time STEM activities for Pre-K-12 children and youth in the Philadelphia area. The Professional Development Directory includes STEM PD offerings for both classroom teachers and informal educators. We continue to accept listings for both.
