Disease Tracker and Care Monitor announced as ADHA Innovation Challenge Winners

Pen CS' Disease Tracker and CareMonitor have been announced as two of the 5 winners from 395 applications for the ADHA Innovation Challenge.


Disease Tracker

The Disease Tracker is a primary care clinical data and analytics platform that improves epidemic surveillance, emergency response and clinical outcomes through point-of-care decision support.

The Disease Tracker is now available on  Topbar .
CareMonitor

CareMonitor  was also announced as a winner for their digital Shared Care and Remote Monitoring Platform, designed to provide Australians with a seamless transition of services across the health system and management of patients diagnosed with COVID-19 or other chronic health issues in record time.

CareMonitor is also available on  Topbar .
“The winners of our challenge are providing amazing digital tools to improve the quality of healthcare services... We are also increasing the capacity of the health system by better using the data we have to assist health services plan for and respond to the needs of the community," said Steven Issa, ADHA Chief Digital Officer.
NAIDOC Week 2020 'Always Was, Always Will Be'
Due to COVID-19 impacts, the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) has rescheduled NAIDOC Week 2020 from July to 8 th -15 th November.

Despite this, we still want to acknowledge the ' National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee' week to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Pen CS has had a long history with the Indigenous sector and wants to recognise and acknowledge the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations' (ACCHOs) work towards protecting Indigenous communities during this health crisis.

Since 2004, Pen CS has been working with Indigenous health organisations including NACCHO, VACCHO, QAIHC, AHCSA and AMS, to improve patient outcomes and Close the Gap by increasing efficiencies in healthcare.

Our CAT Plus population health management software helps to identify and understand the epidemiology of Indigenous health issues.


Evrima, Foxo and ClearSKY Genomics win Pen CS Medtech Pitch Night
Pen CS is pleased to announce the winners of the Medtech Pitch Night.

Medical and health professionals, Medtech companies and those interested in health informatics, f rom across Australia and Singapore , watched the 5 finalists pitch their ideas to the three Medtech industry experts on Friday 19 th June.

The winners included:
  • Evrima Technologies, bringing clinical research to GPs in a scalable way, to help accelerate medical development and get new therapies to people who need them
  • Foxo, an Enterprise communication platform for Health
  • ClearSKY Genomics, a company that develops software to help doctors make sense of DNA

The winners will now collaborate with Pen CS in a co-design workshop with an opportunity for an App on Topbar.

This event was an initiative designed to support data-driven improve in general practices.

The Practice and Profile integration with CAT4
Pen CS has integrated with The Practice and Profile to enable more practices to participate in The Australian Government’s Practice Incentives Program (PIP) Quality Improvement (QI) with their Primary Health Networks.

"It is important that all practices have the equal opportunity to participate in PIP QI and wider primary care quality improvement initiatives in partnership with PHNs," said Dr Abhijeet Ghosh, Population Health Planning and Information Manager at Coordinare , the South Eastern NSW PHN, who championed integration with Pen CS and The Practice and Profile.

The Practice and Profile patient management systems will now be compatible with CAT4, for data-driven quality improvement.

Compatibility issue with Topbar and Bp Premier has now been resolved
In collaboration with Best Practice, we have implemented an effective solution for Topbar and Bp Premier compatibility.
 
From 29th June 2020, Topbar version 2.8.4.20167 was released to practices in stages. Practices will receive this update automatically.

CAT4 UI Icon Updates
Pen CS has implemented the first step in a user interface update of CAT4, with an update to the look of the icons at the top of the CAT4 screen.
Topbar for Beginners
A demonstration of Topbar, our clinical decision support tool. This 30 minute demo will show functionality and the value of Topbar for new and mid-level users.

Quality of Coding
Learn the importance of coding data items in your patient records and show CAT Plus can use correctly coded information for reporting.

Learning Outcomes:                                                  
  • Understand the importance of coding in patient records
  • Know how CAT Plus uses diagnoses, measurements and pathology in reports
  • Understand the limitations of reporting

Immunisation for at risk patients
Identify at risk patients due for immunisation using CAT Plus (CAT4 and Topbar).

Learning Outcomes:
  • Know what reports and filters related to immunisation are available for CAT4
  • Identify patients that belong to particular risk groups eligible for immunisation
  • Know how to access resources to better utilise CAT4
