Some States Adopting Revised NAIC Model for Annuity Training
Beginning January 1st, 2020, states have started to adopt the NAIC “Revised Model” which will require agents to complete an additional one or four-hour annuity training course (CE). New producers getting licensed after the effective date will be required to complete an approved four-hour annuity training course (CE) as part of the licensing requirement for the state. Note: Most carriers also have their own annuity training.

Transamerica: Popular riders return: As of January 1, 2021, Transamerica will resume accepting applications with Long-Term Care (LTC) and Living-Benefit Riders (LBRs) for individuals ages 56–75, subject to normal underwriting requirements. CLICK HERE for details (scroll down). 

Pacific Life: Increases Face Amount Limit to $5 Million for PL Promise GUL, effective January 11, 2021. PL Promise GUL is a universal life insurance product with no-lapse guarantees designed to provide affordable death benefit protection. CLICK HERE for details.

Protective: They've lowered their prices for their Classic Choice term as well as extended their maturity age to 95, increased the maximum issue ages for their 10‑to 30‑year term periods, and upped their fully-commissionable policy fee to $65.

John Hancock: To accelerate a return to desired service levels, effective January 28, 2021, JH is temporarily raising their minimum face amount for term insurance to $750,000. Applications under this amount must be signed/received by JH home office by Wed., Jan. 27, 2021 to be issued.
