Hello Partners,
Spring is here and your Chamber has been exceptionally busy! Our annual Easter Parade and Hunt was successful with over 250 children receiving a special ‘Easter bunny chocolate lol-li-pops treat donated by our Chamber Partner Kilwins, owners Christine and Brian Viscount! EB walked down Main Street with a trail of parade attendees behind her. Thank you to our volunteers for sharing their Easter Sunday with the Chamber.
In March we sponsored our second food crawl with the PJ BID. Chili was on the menu with 12 participating restaurants. Walking patrons had their choice of some traditional chilies along with specialty ones including spices of curry and cardamom.
We moved very quickly to our 14th annual Health & Wellness Fest at the Meadow Club in PJS. This venue lends itself for the perfect layout for over 70 vendor tables. Some new participants this year included the SBM Mobile Mammography Unit, F45 Training of Selden, Prepared Meals LI and Guide Dog Foundations for the Blind with their ambassador dog,- Quint! St. Charles presented their food court that was very popular with a ‘avocado bar’, miniature fajitas, and yogurt parfaits.
That same weekend in April your Chamber helped sponsor a NEW event – the “Vogue in the Village” fashion show. Presented by Fedora Lounge Boutique & Hair Salon, co-chairs Christine Murillo and Doug Quattrock did an outstanding job collaborating with our business community and joining efforts with our personal service businesses, apparel and even Yorkie models from Yorkie 911!
The Chamber helped to celebrate the retiring of Rev. Pete Jannson as pastor of the Harborview Christian Church on E. Main Street. A longtime member of the Chamber and a good friend to our community, we wish him well with his new adventures.
We have scheduled three ribbon cuttings in May and look forward to the warm weather to help celebrate these new Chamber partners! As June approaches please support our- ‘TGIF Sounds of the Sound’-event on the ferry June 30th. Featured will be a 12 piece band-‘Dr. K’s Motown Revue’ tickets are on sale now through our website by PayPal.
Happy spring!
Thank you,
