Hello Chamber Partners,
We are almost there, back to a new normal! Though it seems there are always some new challenges that have to be conquered! A warm fall welcomed to the Village’s Harvest Festival, with their chowder crawl, pet costume parade and professional pumpkin carving sponsored by the BID. Your Chamber sponsored a fall artwalk with 18 participating business showcasing our local artists works. The warm weather gave the opportunity for the completion of a brand new outdoor mural. There is a ‘whale sighting’ in the alley way by Salsa Salsa, just east of the angle wings. The Humpback Whale is indigenous to the east coast and now has a home in Port Jefferson. Thank you mural artists Jennifer Hannaford and Linda Mendell-Alfin! This project was a collaborative effort with BID and the Chamber.
There have been ribbon cuttings, networking events and special award presentations! Your Chamber has been active. We particularly honored 3 Chamber Partners for their longevity of being in business! Theatre Three for 50 plus years of service, Murphy Marine Service-Pete Murphy for 25, and Russ & Linda Baker-Ecolin Jewelers for 50 years of service, who will be retiring this coming year! Special award plaques were given out at our September General Membership Meeting.
Our holiday season is approaching and our community is preparing. There will be a Charles Dickens Festival, December 4th & 5th! The Chamber has helped to organize the Festival of Trees this year at the PJ Village Center and is happy to report that there will be 25 themed decorated trees presented on the second floor! FREE to view and enjoy. We welcome back our Santa Parade after missing this popular event for 2 years. Please come and watch November 28th at 3 pm and afterwards join in at Santa’s Workshop to have photo opportunities taken with Santa! The Village is decorated with a display of wreathes, garlands, snowflakes, lights and our business are ready for holiday shoppers!
Happy Thanksgiving and have gratitude for what you do have!
Be well and safe,
Thank you,
