GPL & NCAM starting to take shape above ground
Construction continues on schedule

The new Golden Plough Lodge and Northumberland County Archives & Museum facility on Courthouse Road in Cobourg is starting to take shape above ground as construction work progresses on schedule for completion by late 2022.

While most of the work completed since the launch of construction in December 2020 has been hidden underground, progress is now visible at the site as the team has begun forming footings and walls above ground. The structure will continue to take shape throughout the year as the construction focus shifts to the superstructure in the fall.

Construction highlights to date
  • 1,758 cubic meters of concrete poured
  • 290 meters of sanitary main installed
  • Continuation of footings and walls for north and south buildings
  • 9850 cubic yards of engineered fill delivered to site
  • 1328 geopiers (columns of uniformly graded and compacted stone) installed to strengthen the ground for construction
