GRAYSON ROAD TO CLOSE TEMPORARILY DURING UTILITY WORK
Closure limited to off-peak, evening hours to minimize traffic impacts
VIRGINIA BEACH – As work continues on Phase II of the I-64/264 Interchange Improvements Project in Virginia Beach, crews will temporarily close Grayson Road to through traffic, beginning Monday, Sept. 23.

In an effort to limit impacts to the traveling public, the Grayson Road closure, located near Witchduck Road and the I-264 interchange, will be limited to off-peak, evening hours: Monday through Friday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., with some weekend, night work possible. Turn lanes from Witchduck Road onto Grayson Road at Greenwich Road will also be closed during this time.

At all other times, the road will be open to through traffic, meaning that vehicles can travel from one end of Grayson Road to the other.

Local traffic access will be maintained throughout the duration of the work, allowing property owners and patrons to access the properties along Grayson Road at all times.

Rouse Drive will remain open to traffic at all times.

A signed detour will direct motorists to use Witchduck Road and Bonney Road to get around the closure, when it's in place. The work is expected to last through late October.
The location of the Grayson Road utility work is indicated by the blue and white icon on the above map, with the road closure indicated by black lines. While the work is underway, Grayson Road will be closed to through traffic, with turns onto Grayson Road from Witchduck Road at Greenwich Road also restricted. Rouse Drive will remain open.
