PLANNING FOR 2020-2021
I had the opportunity to share our school beliefs, practices and curriculum with families that are interested in attending Gold Rush next year. I felt fortunate to share our collective commitment to challenge critical thinkers to take risks, honor differences and care for others.

Gold Rush prides itself on having low class sizes. Almost all of our classes have 25 students or less. Because of our projected enrollment for next year and our desire to maintain a low student to teacher ratios, we are limiting open enrollment next year. This is especially true for our incoming kindergarten class. If you are currently open enrolled and have an incoming kindergartner please make sure to apply in the first round of open enrollment. Also, if you haven't completed our survey for next year please do that. Click here for the survey.

We are excited to welcome our new kindergarten families on Thursday, December 5, from 5:00-6:00 PM. This is an opportunity for parents to complete registration paperwork and tour our school.
CRAZY HAIR FOR A CAUSE
Student clubs, families and staff are currently donating canned goods, non perishable items and identified first aid supplies for both the Parker Task Force and Kits for Kids. On Friday students brought in change for crazy hair. One hundred percent of students donations are being used to purchase medical supplies that were still needed. We encourage families to bring in food items or the identified first aid supplies throughout next week.
GRE ARTWORK ON DISPLAY
Gold Rush students' art work is currently being displayed at the District administration building. We are honored to have our art out for all to enjoy. We thank our art teacher, Mrs. Dazzio, for her daily instruction and for preparing our installation. Click here for additional samples of what is currently being showcased.

DCSD's DISCOVERY PROGRAM
The Douglas County School District Discovery Program offers full day gifted programming in all content areas. This programming option is designed to meet the needs of gifted elementary school students in grades 2 -6 who require intensity of instruction and acceleration beyond what can reasonably be expected from the regular school gifted programming.

In an effort to ensure equitable opportunity for families to learn about this program we have scheduled three Discovery Program Information Sessions during the month of November. Please see additional information below.
