It's Fair Week!
The first Pickaway County Fair was held October 15, 1834. A period of twenty years went by before another fair was held, and then in 1893 a new fair was organized, which took place for 3 years.

The NEW Pickaway Agriculture and Event Center hosted the first Pickaway County Fair in June 2019.

If you haven't made it to the new fairgrounds, we encourage you to stop out and see all of the hard work the 4-H kids have done this year.

Summer Blooming Plants Showing their Beauty

Max Frei Cranesbill

Brilliant magenta-purple blooms stand out against the rich green, deeply lobed foliage. Blooms continuously from late spring through summer. The foliage turns crimson red in the fall. An excellent choice for adding vibrant color to rock and alpine gardens, patio containers, and mixed borders.
Quick Fire Hydrangea

Quick Fire blooms about a month before other Hardy Hydrangea varieties and flowers every year! Flowers open white then turn pink as summer progresses. This very hardy flowering shrub is perfect in mixed containers, mass plantings, as a hedge, or cut flower.
Stachys Cotton Candy

In early summer the upright spikes of ‘cotton candy’ pink flowers appear attracting bees to the nectar. Removing faded flowers will encourage more buds to form for weeks on end. An interesting and unusual perennial for near the front of the border, or in containers.
