To Celebrate 40 Years of Growth, let’s

GROW RIVERSIDE OUTSIDE!
We are pleased to bring the Riverside community together to help us recognize Riverside’s 40th Anniversary.
Last year when we surveyed students, parents, staff, trustees, alumni, and friends for ideas on how to celebrate,
chief among them was honoring Riverside’s dedicated teachers with a campus installation. That idea parallels a passion for embracing outdoor education among our current teachers,
a growing need for more community gathering space,
and the pandemic-inspired need to teach outdoors.
Riverside’s teachers want to enhance curriculum through the lenses of outdoor and place-based education, developing students who are more active, engaged, patient, and supportive, and preparing them for the serious environmental and social challenges of their future. While creating connectivity and investigating the natural areas on our campus, we need spaces for students to question, discuss, record, and present what they’re learning.

Teaching outdoors creates a more beautiful, safe, and purposeful school day, and establishes both a profound understanding of the complexities of the natural world and the intellectual tools to be part of future solutions. A pavilion with a fireplace and furniture will provide a much needed space for meaningful opportunities to strengthen our growing community.
The Teachers Pavilion will recognize Riverside’s talented and devoted faculty, past and present. Their names and years of service will be posted, along with photos, biographies, and memories of those honored by donors.
We have already raised half of the funds and resources needed,
and now we ask you to join us in creating this tribute to
the dynamic, engaging, and professional teaching that
has taken place at Riverside each day for the last 40 years.
No gift is too small, each one is appreciated!
