GROWING A FAMILY
(PART TWO)
In
last week's e-newsletter
I talked about how much the people who make up our studio contribute to WHY I love BYS Yoga and the significance that those relationships and the studio have had to my life and personal growth. This week I am thrilled to share the exciting news that our BYS Yoga Family is growing!
BYS Yoga is becoming
BYS Yoga Collective
to better represent an upcoming shift in ownership and management, as four dedicated members of our Family step into the role that Jody and I have shared for the past 14 years. Alicia Broudy-Clawson, Alana DeLoge, RaeLynn Gigler, and Ashley O'Hara (or as Jody has deemed them, "The Fab 4!") will be ushering our beautiful studio and #kulaoncarson into its next phase.
I love this studio and all of what it represents. It's actually because of and through my own practice, which was established on our gorgeous, squeaky, wood floors, that I know now it's time for me to pursue new dreams and opportunities... and, just as importantly, invite these incredible women to do the same.
Let me be clear that Jody and I are not going anywhere (you'll still find me teaching and both of us taking classes at the best yoga studio in Pittsburgh... and, as stated last week, you are all part of my Family!). But, it's time for me to also create more space and energy to dive into a renewed passion for design (which has crept back into my life very organically over the past few years) and my volunteer work with The Brashear Association. When I took over the Board President role at Brashear at the end of last year, the realization that I could play a larger part in supporting the communities in South Pittsburgh through their mission and social services ignited a deeper passion in me for that work as well.
For the past 6 months, faced with the knowledge that this needed shift was going to occur, ALL of our dedicated instructors, and especially these four women, have inspired in this self described "yoga studio momma," a reassurance of their commitments to what was born at 1113 East Carson Street and has grown throughout the years. Over the past month, the new ownership has already begun to share their own reasons WHY they love BYS Yoga and you'll be hearing more from them (& other instructors too!) in the coming weeks as this transition occurs and as the studio, as BYS Yoga Collective, is born anew.
Speaking of transitions, they are never easy, but we have all been working diligently to ensure that we are making it as smooth as possible for YOU... the reason that our studio exists... our community... our Yoga Family. Please know that all classes, schedules, and passes/packages will continue without interruption through this shift. We know that there will be questions (& I can't guarantee that there won't be a few tears from me as these new dreams come to fruition.... responses and correspondence from last week's email were incredibly touching and I LOVED reading each and every one) so please don't hesitate to reach out. And... come celebrate with us on Saturday, March 31st 2018 as we mark this momentous occasion with a PARTY (or, maybe more appropriately, a "Family Reunion!" (more details below)
With much love and admiration... and to following our dreams...
Namaste,
Kristi
