G ROWING Campaign: E-Update
After seeing the "big kids" do it, Landon takes his turn with the shovel at Valley's Groundbreaking Ceremony on September 14, 2018. Fun fact: Landon could potentially be a third generation VL graduate!
Valley Lu Breaks Ground!
Nearly 600 people - including our students, faculty and staff - gathered on September 14th to celebrate the groundbreaking of Valley's G ROWING Campaign building expansion.

As Executive Director, Dr. John Brandt welcomed everyone, he gave a wonderful summary of the purpose for the day:

"To a certain degree, its about the past...it's about our community... it's about the present... and it's about the future."

In each of those categories, Dr. Brandt noted the meaningful connections present: a dozen individuals who were at the original groundbreaking in 1978, our current students who will experience the improvements first hand, the handful of future students who came to experience the special day, and the dignitaries from our community who joined for the celebration.

We thank everyone who attended for giving of their time to celebrate God's faithfulness and the progress of the campaign. If you were unable to attend we invite you to watch the video of both parts of the celebration: the inside portion and the outside portion.

Letter of congratulations from Michigan District of the LCMS District President
The President of the Michigan District, Rev. Dr. David P.E. Maier was unable to attend the celebration in person, but sent a thoughtful letter of congratulations.

Cabinet's Corner

Cabinet members have been invited to share their thoughts on the G ROWING Campaign and their experience as a Cabinet member. This month, we hear from co-chairs Gene and Lori Pickelman following the September 14th Groundbreaking Ceremony.

" Congratulations to all stakeholders for the successful groundbreaking on the expansion and renovation of our Valley school! John and Kyle, students and faculty did an amazing job of making everyone feel welcomed and energized with the future benefits of this expansion. John said it best in that this is more than an expansion of the building, it is about community and the development of Christian leaders! (paraphrase) The choirs and the band did a fantastic job reminding us of our great God who has blessed us so much! It is with great gratitude to join with everyone in truly making a difference in the lives of so many. Onward! "For we are co-workers in God's service; you are God's field, God's building. By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with core. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.
