Network Updates

Register for our December GRTICN meeting

Please join us on Friday, December 13, 9:00am-10:30am at Michaux House! Unite Us will explore how their system can support our interest in Community Resource Mapping and Marisa Gitchel will be guiding us through a mindfulness exercise and sharing about resources for trauma exposed professionals.

The parking deck is directly across from St. James on your left. Parking is free and includes handicapped spaces. Michaux House also has a ramp to enter the building.

Community Resource Mapping focuses on what communities have to offer by identifying assets and resources that can be used for building a system in support and care for community members. The GRTICN will be engaging in this process to identify current resources, learn about gaps, and cultivate new relationships across agencies. If you are interested in participating, please let us know what dates work for you at the link below:

Additional Resources

New LGBTQ Resources for Service Providers

In 2012, the National Sexual Violence Resource Center developed an information packet of materials for service providers working with the LGBTQ+ community. These resources were well-received and widely used by the field for many years. In 2023, NSVRC staff began talking with key partners about the current needs of LGBTQ+ community members and felt it was time for an update. These resources aim to give updated guidance and considerations for those serving this population. Learn more and access the guides on the NSVRC website.

How to Handle Hard Conversations with Family This Holiday Season

Disagreement can be one of the hardest things to prepare for when visiting with loved ones — especially during intense and polarizing political climates.

But there are ways to make the experience a little smoother, said family therapists, who shared their ideas with KQED for what to do when conversations around the dinner table go awry. Read the tips on the KQED website.
