Interested in becoming a Medical Interpreter?
Online Medical Interpreting Training (40-hour)

  • Hybrid, 40-hour course using Zoom® and Google Classroom® platforms
  • Designed for complete-at-your-own-pace as well as weekly access to live instruction
  • Office hours available for individual advice
  • Fulfills the training requirement for National Certification
  • Completers receive a "Professionally Trained Medical Interpreter" certificate
  • Topics include, but are not limited to, Ethics & Conduct, Basic Skills (from pre-session to post-session), Positioning, Terminology, Modes of Interpreting, and Strategies for Intervention and Cultural Mediation.

This 40-hour course is held over five weeks:

Orientation: Tuesday, April 13, 2021
Week one: Tuesday, April 20, 2021
Week two: Tuesday, April 27, 2021
Week three: Tuesday, May 4, 2021
Week four: Tuesday, May 11, 2021
Week five: Tuesday, May 18, 2021
Final Test: Tuesday, May 25, 2021

Course registration is $495.
Physical textbooks available for an additional charge of $25.

  • Class will meet via Zoom® every Tuesday (of all 5 weeks) from 7:00 - 8:30 pm

  • Please be sure that your electronic device supports the Zoom® and Google Classroom® applications

  • Camera and Gmail email address required to take this course
