Sunshine and clear skies made for a perfect day at the fourth annual NYMC Golf Outing and Reception at the Saint Andrew's Golf Club. The event was the most successful to date, raising more than $200,000 with 130 golfers taking to the course, reveling in the pleasant weather as they tested their skills in a putting and hole-in-one contest. An evening reception, with more than 175 attendees, honored Kenneth Theobalds, center, a member of New York Medical College’s Board of Trustees and president and managing partner of RiverRun Partners LLC. The event was sponsored by the Board of Advisors (BOA) and chaired by Martin Katzenstein, M.D. '78, chair of the BOA, assistant dean for clinical affiliations, and associate professor of pediatrics. "I want to thank everyone for coming to to this great event at Saint Andrew's and for their support," said Dr. Katzenstein. “We were thrilled to have such a beautiful day for our annual golf outing," said Bess J. Chazhur, M.S., chief development officer and executive director of alumni relations. "The mood was fun and festive as we celebrated trustee Ken Theobalds for his longtime commitment to supporting NYMC students."

New Medical School Linkage Agreement for GSBMS Students

Western Atlantic University School of Medicine

NYMC has established a new Linkage Agreement with the Western Atlantic University School of Medicine (WAUSM), a private allopathic medical school. This agreement offers conditional admission to WAUSM for current GSBMS master's students and graduates from most GSBMS master's programs, provided they meet specific performance benchmarks. WAUSM features a preclerkship campus in Freeport, Bahamas, where students spend 20 months before moving to the U.S. for clerkships and residency, ultimately earning an M.D. degree. This new partnership is in addition to the many medical program linkage agreements available to GSBMS students.
