This month, we introduce our Social Work team, which is dedicated to helping our patient navigate any social service barriers that they may face as well as providing support and resources during challenging times. Our social workers will meet with clients at any point in their lives- from pregnancy to end of life care, helping them coordinate and navigate their care and removing barriers they may face in achieving better health outcomes. Clients can get help connecting to resources for housing, food, electrical assistance, support groups and a variety of other topics.
Lindsey Arceci
, a social worker at Families First, has these suggestions for staff about how to best take advantage of the social work resources here: “Encourage patients to keep following up with us after our first meeting if they encounter any barriers, even something small” Also, she says, “If you have a patient who needs something, always ask us. We have some surprising connections - you never know what we have up our sleeves.” To learn more about what the social team does, reach out to Social Work and Prenatal Manager

Employee
of the Month - October 2019

Marketing Coordinator
Mike Vinci
has been with us since December of 2017. Based in Somersworth, he does marketing for Goodwin and for Strafford County Public Health Network, posts on social media for both Goodwin and Families First, and co-creates this employee newsletter. Mike was nominated by four different coworkers for Employee of the Month for October. Here is some of what they had to say:
Mike is on many committees and works with basically all the departments of Greater Seacoast Community Health. I appreciate his work ethic and positive energy. He shows genuine interest, care and passion to help, whether it's in public health, the LGBT+ committee or trauma-informed care. He uplifts his coworkers by showing up, and he is making change happen. He is always learning new skills, brings a great perspective and has a calming, fun energy!
He is consistently taking on tasks and projects from several departments within GSCH. He has been incredibly helpful in creating and updating materials for the Public Health Network and the many committees he sits on, always makes himself available and never says no to helping anyone out. He offers creativity, humor and high-quality work in everything he creates and I want to recognize him for his hard work, dedication and constant support of his colleagues and the GSCH mission.
Always going above and beyond for GSCH. Always thoughtful and there whenever he is needed regardless of how busy he is. He is a true example of GSCH's values. His is a true asset to this organization. He truly cares about his coworkers, our patients and the communities that we serve.
Mike is a very calm and professional colleague. Even when there is a high-pressure situation, he maintains perfect composure. He never says no, and does everything we need of him with a smile on his face. He isn't afraid to give or receive constructive criticism. Mike is a very caring and genuine person, and you can see it through the work he does.
