Innovators in Down Payment Assistance
Webinar participants will hear from Joel Singer, CEO of California Association of Realtors® (CAR) about the CAR Housing Affordability Fund, which raises funds through local REALTOR® associations and distributes those funds to help promote homeownership and increased housing supply in communities. Sean Moss, EVP, Product and Operations at Down Payment Resource (DPR) will join Singer to discuss the groundbreaking integration of DPR’s web-based tool with the nation’s largest and most recognized subscriber-based multiple listing California Regional Multiple Listing Service (CRMLS), expanding awareness of local down payment assistance programs and helping these programs expand their reach.

Building Minority Wealth through Homeownership
Participants will hear from Tony Thompson, CEO and Founder of National Association of Minority Mortgage Bankers of America (NAMMBA), Eric Lawrence Frazier MBA, CEO and Founder of The Power is Now Media, Inc. and other fair housing advocates as they discuss best practices, tools and other resources that support the goal of increasing minority homeownership.

Advancing Rural Broadband
Barbara Hayes, Chief Economic Development Officer of Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC), will discuss high-speed broadband availability, one of the most critical missing infrastructure components in many counties and the collective efforts underway to develop broadband infrastructure to support housing and economic growth.

Closed Loop Pump Storage – Wildfire/PSPS Prevention
Michael Day, Advanced Energy Program Lead of Trane Technologies, will talk about the threat of catastrophic wildfires and regular loss of electricity in public safety power shutoff (PSPS) events, two of the largest threats to housing and economic stability found in rural California and solutions counties are pursuing in the form of closed loop pump storage systems.
