Reflecting on a Quarter of Mission Impact and Community Connection
A Message from the CEO
| |
This quarter reminded me just how much can happen when people come together around a shared mission.
We celebrated longtime friends and welcomed new ones. We strengthened partnerships across Tarrant County and beyond. We raised awareness about fraud and financial exploitation, celebrated the talents of the people in our community, and gathered for a wonderful Fiesta Under the Stars.
And our community showed up for GSI in a big way on North Texas Giving Day. Together, you helped us raise $22,665, surpassing our $20,000 goal. Every one of those gifts helps GSI continue protecting and empowering vulnerable adults who may have nowhere else to turn.
What I appreciate most about this quarter isn’t any single event or accomplishment. It’s the reminder that GSI’s work has never happened in isolation. It happens because of the extraordinary network of staff, board members, volunteers, donors, community partners, and friends who believe vulnerable adults deserve safety, dignity, and someone in their corner.
Thank you for being part of that network. I’m grateful for what we’ve accomplished together and excited about the work ahead.
With gratitude,
Lyn
Chief Executive Officer
| | We Reached Our North Texas Giving Day Goal Thanks to YOU! | | |
Thanks to our incredible GSI community, we raised $22,665 for North Texas Giving Day, surpassing our $20,000 goal!
We are so grateful to everyone who donated, shared our mission, encouraged others to give, and helped make this year’s campaign such a tremendous success.
A special thank you to our 2026 North Texas Giving Day Matching Gift Partners, The Morris Foundation and Artham Advisors, for their generous support and partnership!
Your support helps GSI:
❤️ Protected vulnerable adults through guardianship services.
❤️ Provided financial education to help individuals build stability.
❤️ Connected older adults to essential resources so they could live safely and independently.
❤️ Delivered advocacy, care, and compassion to vulnerable adults — many of whom had no one else advocating for them.
Thank you for believing in GSI’s mission and helping us continue to protect, empower, and advocate for vulnerable adults throughout our community.
| | TCU Intern Launches New Awareness Campaign to Kick-off the Fall Semester | | |
One of the highlights of the quarter was celebrating our AMAZING TCU intern, Kierstyn!
Kierstyn has been a dedicated member of GSI’s Fundraising & Development team since 2025, and we have been continually impressed by her creativity, passion for serving others, and commitment to making a positive impact in her community.
While studying abroad, Kierstyn continued to make an impact from afar by helping champion another education and awareness campaign focused on scams, fraud, and financial exploitation. Her campaign was shared throughout common spaces on the TCU campus, helping equip fellow students and staff with knowledge to recognize and protect themselves from financial harm.
Thank you, Kierstyn, for continuing to make a difference — near and far!
| | Creativity in Full Bloom with United Advocates of Central Texas | |
Our partnership with United Advocates of Central Texas brought an extra-special and colorful element to GSI’s Fiesta Under the Stars!
Talented artists helped create beautiful, hand-painted flower pots for our Adopt-a-Pot station, giving us a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their creativity, talents, and individuality while bringing GSI’s mission to life in a meaningful way.
We are so grateful for partnerships like this that connect our community, celebrate the abilities and contributions of others, and create lasting impact.
Thank you to United Advocates of Central Texas and the talented artists who helped make this special project possible!
| | Connecting, Learning, and Collaborating at the Aging in Texas Conference | |
Our team had a wonderful time at the Aging in Texas Conference in San Angelo!
One of the most meaningful parts of the conference was reconnecting with community partners and meeting dedicated professionals who are making a difference every day for older Texans.
We were grateful for the opportunity to learn from one another, exchange ideas, and strengthen relationships with individuals and organizations who share our commitment to preventing exploitation, strengthening services, and helping older adults age with dignity and security.
We returned to North Texas with new ideas, stronger partnerships, and renewed energy to continue serving our community!

A Day Rooted in Community at the
TAGS Summer Forum
| |
Thank you to TAGS (Tarrant Area Gerontological Society) for hosting such an impactful Summer Forum!
The event was a wonderful opportunity to connect, learn, and collaborate with so many individuals dedicated to supporting and uplifting our aging community.
We were especially grateful for the incredible partners and professionals across Texas who continue to demonstrate a deep commitment to serving and advocating for aging adults.
Events like these highlighted the importance of coming together, sharing knowledge, and building relationships that strengthen our collective ability to serve our communities.
We are grateful for everyone whose dedication makes a difference every day!

GSI’s Fiesta Under the Stars was a wonderful evening of community and mission impact. To our amazing guests, generous sponsors, dedicated board members, volunteers, partners, and supporters — THANK YOU for making the evening one to remember! Your energy, generosity, and big Texas hearts made the celebration truly special as we celebrated more than four decades of service to Tarrant County and the collective impact we are making to protect, empower, and advocate for vulnerable adults in our community.
We also proudly celebrated Chris Ponder as GSI’s 2026 Colleen Colton Honoree! Congratulations, Chris, and thank you for your dedication to our community and your continued commitment to supporting vulnerable and aging adults. We were honored to recognize you and celebrate your contributions alongside so many friends and supporters of GSI.
Every part of the evening reflected the incredible community that stands behind GSI. We were especially grateful to celebrate alongside so many supporters who also helped make our North Texas Giving Day campaign a success. Special thanks to the incredible performance from Mariachi Espuelas de Plata, the award-winning Northside High School Mariachi program right here in Fort Worth. With a national championship title and performances at Carnegie Hall, these talented young musicians brought incredible energy, music, and Texas pride to our celebration!
Thank you for celebrating with us, supporting our mission, and standing alongside GSI as we continue working together to serve our beloved community.
We look forward to seeing you at future GSI events!
