New 2022-2023 Health Forms

for Surge Youth & all Children's Ministry

For safety and accuracy, both the Surge Youth Ministry and GSLC Children's Ministry Health & Liability Forms MUST be renewed once a year.

These new forms are required for your child to participate in any children and/or youth ministry, meetings, classes, events, trips, etc.

*Please note: Nursery-age children are included in the Children's Ministry Form.

Prayers and Aid In the Wake of Hurricane Ian

As millions in Florida and the surrounding Atlantic and Caribbean region are left to deal with Hurricane Ian's devastation, we pray for strength, safety and hope for all those affected. To help LCMS congregations coordinate an effective response to the storm, the Mid-South District Office recommends sharing monetary donations directly with the Florida-Georgia District. Please see the "Ian Updates" page on the Florida-Georgia website for details, including information on other opportunities for assistance being coordinated through Lutheran Emergency Response Teams (LERT).

Gifts can also be shared with the Mid-South District. Note that 100% of Ian relief funds received by the Mid-South District will be forwarded to the Florida-Georgia District for their ongoing support and recovery efforts. Checks made payable to the Mid-South District and designated for "Ian Relief" can be sent to:

Don't Miss the Mid-South District's Oktoberfest Celebration

To help celebrate the 175th year of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, the Mid-South District will host Oktoberfest at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Memphis on Saturday, October 8 from 11 AM-3 PM. The full day of German-inspired fun will include delicious food and beer, an Oompah band, children's activities and more. A fundraising auction of unique themed gift baskets will also be held, with proceeds benefitting Restore Corps-Memphis in the fight against human trafficking.

Tickets for Oktoberfest are:

$10 for ADULTS (age 13 & up), which includes a German meal and 2 beverages or craft beers
$5 for KIDS (age 4-12), which includes a meal and a beverage
FREE for those under age 4

Get Your "Love Being Lutheran" Tee at Oktoberfest!

To help celebrate the 175th anniversary of the LCMS, the Mid-South District will have “Love Being Lutheran” tee-shirts available for $20.00 at the Oktoberfest event taking

place at Immanuel Lutheran in Memphis on October 8. A portion of the shirt sales will be donated to Restore Corps-Memphis, a local organization that helps victims of human trafficking. If you can’t attend the Oktoberfest event but would like to purchase a shirt, watch for information about a pop-up online store!
