Lots of Schmoozing at GSSCC SchmoozaPalooza

GSSCC welcomed some 250 members and guests to learn more about 27 member exhibitors, restaurants, and sponsors at the 2019 SchmoozaPalooza last Wednesday evening at The Fillmore Silver Spring. Thanks to Welcome Sponsor Purple Line Transit Partners/Purple Line Transit Construction and Entertain Sponsor Minimally Invasive Vascular Centers who made it possible for a trio from Levine Music to bring some classy jazz to the evening. ANNOUNCING:  The "Chamber Cares Circle"

It's no secret that GSSCC member businesses are generous supporters of the many nonprofit organizations that serve our community. The businesses and their employees contribute their time, talent, and treasure to various arts, health, social, and service organizations that work to serve those in need.  

This year, as part of the Chamber's annual Awards & Installation Dinner, scheduled for Thursday evening, June 27, GSSCC will recognize some of the members that demonstrate just how much the business community cares about the broader community in Silver Spring, Montgomery County, Maryland, and beyond.  

Watch this space, and your email for details about how to nominate your company or another member to be among the charter honorees in this "circle of care."  
* There's still time to register for tonight's  Create Art Center wo rkshop for adults - Watercolor on Yupo: What Would Mark Rothko Do?  from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.  In this one-night workshop, participants will discuss the concepts behind Mark Rothko's large-scale water color paintings and then create colorful pieces of their inspired by his passion for colors. * Humanity & Inclusion's emergency team is on the ground in Mozambique helping survivors of a massive cyclone that destroyed 90% of the coastal city of Beira and displaced some 140,000 people. Members who would like to support this effort can find more information and a link to donate here.

* Improbable Comedy will bring  Robert Mac (Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central) along with Violet Gray, Leon Scott ("Get Up DC"), and Katie McKelvie (Charm City Comedy Festival) to Cissel-Saxon American Legion Post 41 (8110 Fenton Street) at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday, March 30.
