Kick off November with a Ribbon Cutting!

What Does the 2020 Census Mean for You?

The GSSCC Non-Profit Team will host a workshop on the 2020 census at 9 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, in the GSSCC conference room. The program will be presented by Shawn Ellis, Montgomery County's 2020 Census Manager . All Chamber members are welcome to attend and learn about how the census affects our community, and how your business or organization can get involved. Register  here  by COB Tuesday, November 12, to claim your spot.
The Grand Opening of The Landing of Silver Spring 
Congratulations to  The Landing of Silver Spring  (13908 New Hampshire Ave.) on its grand opening! The Chamber was there to welcome The Landing, a new  assisted living facility offering memory care services,  to the business community with Board Members Robert Scott, HiTouch Business Services, and Stewart Zemil, Apex Home Loans, presenting the plaque and cutting the ribbon.  Thank you to all of our members who joined us for the grand opening!
Ellsworth Place is hosting a family-friendly Halloween event on Thursday, October 31, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be trick or treating, professional pumpkin carvers, and a costume contest. Read  here for more details.

* Jacob's Promise is continuing its partnership with Purdue University Global in which staff of Jacob's Promise and immediate family members enjoy the benefits of tuition reduction and an introductory trial period of three weeks tuition free. Read here for more information. 

* Joseph Barone, A Fool for Learning, LLC, recently spoke at the St. John's University Alumni Insiders View - US Capital Program on "Leadership in Modern Times." This program introduced students to the vast number of career opportunities in the DC area and provided them with insights from alumni on leadership, networking, and more.

County Survey Seeks Input, Comments to Improve Procurement Process

As part of an effort to streamline and improve Montgomery County's procurement process, the Office of Procurement is conducting a brief survey.  The office seeks input on current procurement regulations from companies that have done business with the County as well as those who might be interested in doing so in the future. Click here to complete the four-question survey.
