* USPS Silver Spring will host a Grand Re-Opening Ribbon Cutting Event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, at its new location (900 Wayne Avenue, Ground Floor).  Refreshments will be served.

* YMCA Silver Spring will be undergoing some "facility enhancements" between August 27 to September 4. Information on closures is here.

Brookville Road/Lyttonsville Place - Crews continue heavy construction at the bridge site from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays through September. Stewart Avenue remains open both ways 24/7 with a speed limit of 15 mph.

Long Branch Area - Due to varying rock conditions, blasting may be utilized throughout the month of September between the hours of 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Blasting is not planned on weekends or holidays. Residents and business owners will receive at least 24 hours notice before blasting is to occur.

About GSSCC Committee/Team Meetings:  All GSSCC members are welcome to participate in Chamber committees. Members are welcome to attend committee meetings to assess interest in joining a committee. Meetings are typically held in the GSSCC Conference Room. Advance RSVP is required and priority will be given to existing committee members when speakers are scheduled.
The Chamber office will be closed on Monday, September 4, in recognition of Labor Day. Look for the next GSSCC Weekly Update on Tuesday, September 5.
