Energy Co-Op Acccepting New Applicants

In partnership with energy management experts CQI Associates, GSSCC is pleased to invite members to begin saving money by joining the Chamber Energy Purchasing Cooperative. The increased purchasing power of the Cooperative means members can get lower energy rates than they could typically attain on their own.

On average, since 2004, the Cooperative electricity rates have been lower than both market rates and the weighted annual utility standard offer service rates. Members who signed on last fall saw a combined savings of $889,600. Cooperative natural gas rates were also lower than average market rates and monthly winter peak indexed rates.

The upcoming Presidential election, erratic weather conditions, and global tensions are making the energy market more volatile. GSSCC's Energy Purchasing Cooperative provides members a way to stabilize utility rates and take advantage of competitive supplier pricing.

The spring campaign is underway for both new participants and renewal members who have contract renewal dates through to December 2020.

To learn more about the purchasing cooperative, market rate projections, Renewable Portfolio Standards Regulations, and recent changes in law, members can participate in one of the following Information Webinars:

February 25, 2020 - 1:00 pm

For more information, contact Jane Redicker at the Chamber at 301-565-3777.
