Celebrate the season with fellow members and guests at a special GSSCC Business-After-Hours from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12, at the DoubleTree by Hilton (8727 Colesville Road). Eat, drink, mix, and mingle and support a lucky Chamber non-profit member.  GSSCC will be collecting cash contributions at the door.  Before the end of the evening, one participating non-profit will be selected, in a random drawing, to receive the cash. Members who contribute at least $10 will be entered into a second drawing to win a case of wine, donated by Lee Development Group  (must be present to win).

Courtesy of DoubleTree by Hilton, members will enjoy complimentary appetizers, a cash bar, and networking in a festive atmosphere. Cost for members is $10 (exclusive of a voluntary contribution to the drawing).  Register here.

Digital Presence Workshop - Rescheduled

GSSCC's Young Professionals Network's free seminar on maximizing the impact of youry digital media presence has been rescheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, at Easter Seals Serving DC|MD|VA (1420 Spring St.).  Panelists include Nicole Krug, Social Light , Brian Loebig, LoebigInk.com , and Adam Lowe, Adam Lowe Creative . Join YPN's Holiday Community Service Project

For its Holiday Community Service Project, the Chamber's Young Professionals Network will bake and decorate holiday cookies with clients of Interfaith Works Empowerment Center and Shepherd's Table. Space is limited to 15 attendees. The project is from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, at Progress Place (8106 Georgia Avenue). Find out more and register here.
Pepco to Hold Briefing on Georgia Avenue Underground Line Project

Later this year, Pepco will start work to upgrade the electric system infrastructure in Silver Spring between its Sligo and Linden substations. The project will affect traffic on Georgia Avenue, Linden Lane, Seminary Road, Brookville Road, Hale Place, Fraser Avenue, and Montgomery Street. Pepco has scheduled two briefings on the project from 6:30 p.m to 8:30 p.m. on this Wednesday, November 29, and on Wednesday, December 19. Both briefings will be held at Yeshiva School of Greater Washington, 2010 Linden Lane. More information is here and here.  Reservations are not required, but appreciated at  [email protected].
* One Montgomery Green invites members to  One Montgomery Green Drinks,  from 5:30 p.m to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, at   Denizens Brewing Co.  (1115 East West Highway).  The evening will benefit  Shepherd's Table  and feature drink specials and appetizers.  Learn more and RSVP here .  

* Silver Spring Inc. will host PechaKucha Night Silver Spring, Vol. 14, The Mind, an evening of speakers sharing their perspectives, views, and questions about the mind. The event, featuring music, beer, wine, light snacks, and socializing, is from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, November 30, at the Silver Spring Civic Building (1 Veterans Plaza). Learn more and purchase tickets here.
