* Congratulations to Mussie Betre, Bankers Business Management Services, Inc. on being named among the Capital Region Minority Supplier Development Council's "Top 100 Minority Business Enterprises" for the fourth time. Betre will be recognized at the organization's "Leaders & Legends" awards ceremony next Tuesday evening.

* Easterseals DC MD VA  has been selected as a Head Start grantee for Maryland's Prince George's County. Easterseals  received a grant of $18.6 million over 5 years plus $3.3 million for a program to serve 218 children annually. Read the article  here .

* Purple Line Transit Partners and the Maryland Transit Administration has scheduled a series of open house meetings to provide a progress report on Purple Line construction. The first meeting is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, October 1, in the Silver Spring Transit Center. Questions should be directed to outreach@purplelinemd.com or 443-451-3706.

Learn from procurement experts in the public and private sector at the third annual Procurement Forum, sponsored by the Montgomery County Department of Procurement from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, October 5, at the Silver Spring Civic Building.  
The free forum will feature breakout sessions on a variety of topics, including writing effective proposals, nonprofit opportunities, an overview about business certificates, marketing, social media and new initiatives.
