With only two days left before event registration opens, we highly encourage you to spend time understanding your Player's Handbook to experience the best the Tour has to offer.
Below are six features we would like to highlight:
- Tee Time Preference Request
- Pace of Play Policy
- Course Etiquette
- Handicap Index Maintenance
-
Rules of Golf
- Tour Community Facebook Group
REQUESTING A TEE TIME PREFERENCE
If you would like to use this feature, please follow the steps below:
- Once logged into your Dashboard, you may request a tee time for the entire season or certain events. You do this by clicking on “Edit My Profile” on the right-hand side of your Dashboard.
- Next, select “Golfing Details”. On this page, you will find a Tee Time Preference drop-down menu. Please note that tee time requests MUST be made at least seven (7) days before the date of an event.
- Note: the selected preference can be set on a per-event basis or for the entire season.
If you are carpooling, or would like to play in a tee time near a friend (not WITH your friend), both of you will need to utilize the tee time request feature. After using this feature, send an email to both (patricia@gtaamtour.com) and Liz (liz@gtaamtour.com), including email addresses for both players.
PACE OF PLAY
It is WONDERFUL to see that the majority of players have accepted the responsibility of being aware of, and keeping up to, the group in front of them. In 2024, the average pace of play for all Flights was under time par -- We are proud of our pace of play policy; whose success is thanks to the players who play ready golf and are aware of keeping up to the groups in front of them.

In the interest of making constant and incremental improvements to an already VERY good pace of play program, The Tour has developed a new feature that will enable those on the Event Operations Team to see which groups (and which players) are consistently experiencing challenges with observing The Tour’s Pace of Play Protocols.
For the 2025 season, the Tour and Tour Team will continue to be vigilant issuing pace of play warnings to players who have fallen behind. We will also continue to contact players who receive high rates of warnings during the season and will find ways to assist them in adhering to the Tour's Pace of Play Policy.
New in 2025, players will be able to see (in their personal Dashboard) their rate of pace of play warnings and the Tour average warning rate.
COURSE ETIQUETTE
The Tour is VERY fortunate to have, and provide access to, some of the best private and public golf courses throughout the wider Greater Toronto Area. To be honest, one of the reasons The Tour is invited to return to these high-end golf properties is that players do an EXCELLENT job (for the most part) of leaving the golf course in better condition than they found it.
The Tour has a zero-tolerance policy for individuals who choose to not leave the course in better condition than they found it.
Please click this link on Golf Course Etiquette. The link will direct you to a series of videos on how to take divots on the driving range, fix ball marks, replace and/or fill divots and how to enter/exit and rake bunkers.
Whether you are teeing off at 8:00 AM, or finishing your round at 8:00 PM, everyone should have the opportunity to experience the same level of course conditioning.
HANDICAP INDEX MAINTENANCE
To ensure a level playing field among all Tour competitors, it is imperative that EVERYONE maintains a Current and Accurate Handicap Index.
Rounds played on The GTA AM Tour will be posted directly to each players’ Golf Canada Handicap scoring profile using the hole-by-hole inputting method, from the correct tees, on the correct date and as a Tournament score.
Revisions to the World Handicap System came into effect on January 1, 2024. If you wish to learn more about how handicapping has changed, feel free to read about it here.
Please click here to visit The Tour’s Handicap FAQ page.
RULES OF GOLF
Do you think you know the Rules of Golf? Test your knowledge now to find out whether you are a novice or a master by taking this fun quiz.
Understanding the latest Rules of Golf will help each player to know the options for them and/or their playing partners and will also improve pace of play.
While the Tour invests in having Rules Official(s), we highly encourage players to obtain their FREE Level 1 Rules of Golf official certification by taking the R&A Level 1 exam.
Players who complete their Level 1 Rules of Golf certification will be entered into a draw for a 2025 round of golf at Coppinwood. In order to be entered into this draw, please email your exam results to Liz (liz@gtaamtour.com).
TOUR COMMUNITY FACEBOOK GROUP
With over 450+ members in the group, the GTA AM Tour Community Facebook group is a place where you may want to continue the conversation with other Tour members.
