Paul Dermody, sponsor of the P J Dermody Insurance Classic at Wyndance next week, sent the following email to Mark Young:

Hi Mark!

Wow! Where has the time gone this summer? Here we are with 18 of the 25 GTA AM Tour events in the books and some great races for overall points leaders heating up for the September push to the finish! It's great to see how the excitement around these events and caliber of play improves each year!

I am excited to be sponsoring another exciting GTA AM Tour event, this time at the at Wyndance Golf Club on Tuesday September 2, 2014. This Uxbridge course has all the thrills and chills that any great course can throw at players. It holds the distinction of being the first course in Canada designed by the legendary Greg Norman. Norman has crafted a masterful routing through and around a former sand and gravel pit to create a breathtaking masterpiece.

This is my 7th year as a sponsor of the GTA AM Tour and I am proud to be a part of something that generates such great energy and excitement amongst all of the players. Each of us get an opportunity to experience something similar to what the pros experience when we show up at the first tee box to start our round. That rush of adrenalin that fuels us to do our best each week in the hopes of coming out the winner!

There is still time to get your entry in for the draw for the 2 - 42" LG LED TV's. This will be held at the Tour Championship banquet at the Muskoka Bay Club September 28th. Just send me an email - paul@dermodyinsurance.ca - with the subject line GTA AM Tour Draw, include your name, flight and contact number, and I will do the rest!

In 2013 we introduced The Darling Home For Kids to the GTA AM Tour. The Darling Home for Kids provides paediatric hospice care and respite services to families within communities in Ontario who have children with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses requiring complex care and/or technology-dependent care http://www.darlinghomeforkids.ca/ . Again this year I would like to make a donation to The Darling Home for Kids by contributing $10 for every birdie and eagle made at the P J Dermody Insurance Classic on Tuesday. Last year we raised over $1350 for The Home and my hope is that we will be able to go one better for those that could use our support. We will again have a donation box at registration for any of the players to contribute whatever they wish in support of this.

Thank you Mark again for all that you do to bring joy into the amateur golfers life by running such a great program of golf for us.You and your staff do a great job of organizing each and every one of the events over the course of the year. Hats off to you, Vanessa, Jason, Peter, Scott, Brad and all of the others in the background that make this happen.

I look forward to seeing everyone at Wyndance on Tuesday and hope that everyone gets at least one birdie in their effort to "go low", as well as assisting in the contribution that will be made to support a great cause!

Keep it in the short grass!
