Maintaining a prompt pace of play is essential to everyone affiliated with the GTA AM Tour. Nobody enjoys long waits between shots and slow play affects every group behind you. More importantly, long rounds, caused by slow play can damage our relationships with host courses—many of which schedule member play directly after our final group.
Please take a moment to review the GTA AM Tour Pace of Play Policy, found at the bottom of the Player’s Handbook. It’s important that all players familiarize themselves with the policy before their first event.
How to Stay on Pace
The easiest way to stay on pace is to keep up with the group ahead of you. It doesn’t matter if the group behind is slower—the policy applies equally to all players.
2025 Pace of Play Breach Levels To Groups:
-
Breach 1: Warning
-
Breach 2: 1-Stroke Penalty
-
Breach 3: 2-Stroke Penalty
Note: Penalties under Rule 5.6a (Unreasonable Delay) may also be applied in addition to these.
What Constitutes a Breach?
A group is in breach when they meet both of the following criteria:
-
Behind Time Par – Each hole and round has a maximum time limit printed on your scorecard. A group is behind time par even if it’s just one minute over.
-
Out of Position – A group is out of position when:
- On a par 3 or 4: the group ahead is already off the green
- On a par 5: the group ahead is on the green
GTA AM Tour spotters track time par for every group in real time. If your group begins falling behind, a Tour Team member may assist you in regaining proper pace and position.
Players can view their warning rate by logging into their Player Dashboard on the GTA AM Tour website.
