EPA issues waiver to avert potential summer fuel shortage
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a waiver intended to avert a potential fuel shortage this summer by providing additional flexibility to the marketplace to transition from winter-grade to summer-grade blends. Full story
Landi Renzo receives CNG certification for Ford 7.3L engine
Landi Renzo USA received EPA certification on compressed natural gas (CNG) for the Ford 7.3L engine covering Class 4-7 vehicles. The Landi Renzo USA eco-fuel CNG system for the 7.3L engine is used in airport and hotel shuttle buses, delivery trucks, service trucks, large package trucks, as well as other vocational offerings. Fontaine Modification offering Merlin solar panels
Fontaine Modification now offers installation of solar panel systems from Merlin Solar for customers nationwide in an effort to meet power demands and avoid jumpstarts. Merlin Solar Road Warrior Series panels are 80% lighter than glass and absorb 20% more energy in real-world conditions versus standard flexible solar panels. Full story

Frost & Sullivan: Demand for EVs helps drive growth
Frost & Sullivan’s recent analysis of the market for electric motors in North America forecasts that sector revenues will witness steady growth between 2019 and 2024, increasing at a CAGR of 3.5% from $7.2 billion to $8.5 billion. Full story

Momentum Dynamics, GreenPower to develop wirelessly-charged bus
Momentum Dynamics and GreenPower Motor Co. Inc. announced a three-year OEM agreement to develop and sell wirelessly charged, purpose-built all-electric transit vehicles. The first vehicle to integrate Momentum Dynamics’ high-power wireless charging will be GreenPower’s flagship model, the EV Star, a purpose built, 25-foot mini shuttle capable of transporting 19 passengers. Delivery businesses cut tons of carbon emissions with route optimization
More than 500 delivery businesses worldwide have collectively cut more than 11,000 tons of carbon emissions thanks to their adoption of route optimization technology, according to a report audited and verified by Offsetters Clean Technology. Full story

The Safer Affordable Fuel Efficient (SAFE) Vehicles Final Rule for model years 2021-2026
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the EPA finalize updated Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) and greenhouse gas emissions standards for passenger cars and light trucks and establish new standards, covering model years 2021 through 2026. Full story
