Electric truck maker Rivian lands $350 million investment from Cox Automotive
All-electric vehicle maker Rivian is adding to its investor base, which currently includes Amazon and Ford Motor, providing additional support that the company could be formidable competition for Tesla and others. Rivian announced automotive services company Cox Automotive will make an equity investment of $350 million in the Plymouth, Michigan-based company.
Lightning receives CARB Executive Order for Transit Bus Repower Powertrain
Lightning Systems, a developer of zero-emission powertrains for commercial fleets, received an executive order from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for the Lightning Electric Transit Bus Repower, with CARB’s Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) approval expected in the coming weeks.
New Mexico city to phase out gasoline-powered fleet vehicles
The City of Albuquerque, New Mexico, has added its first-ever electric vehicles to the city fleet, and Mayor Tim Keller has signed an executive instruction to shift all eligible vehicles to electric, hybrid, and alternative low-emission fuels, the city announced.
