Hino, VW partner on hybrids, autonomous drive, technology
Hino Motors and Volkswagen Truck & Bus of Germany agreed to work together on technologies such as hybrids, electric cars, autonomous driving and connectivity. Under the deal, the companies will maintain independence but executive teams will work together to map out cooperation on development of innovative technology.  Full story
Volvo Trucks introduced its first all-electric truck for commercial use - the Volvo FL Electric for urban distribution and refuse operations.  The company expects sales and series production of the new model to start next year in Europe . Full story
Lightning Systems Electric Ford Transit: 61 MPGe in the city
Lightning Systems' battery-electric Ford Transit LightningElectric will provide a fuel economy rating of 61 miles per gallon gasoline equivalent (MPGe) in the city and 66 MPGe on the highway, according to the vehicle modifier, which will display it for fleets around the United States in April and May. Full story
University working With Cummins, Woodward on natural gas engine efficiency
Researchers from Colorado State University's Energy Institute recently received a $1.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy to look at making natural gas engines as efficient as diesel engines in the same class. Full story
Lake Michigan Clean Cities Consortium to host Green Drive$
Three Clean Cities Coalitions are joining forces to host a major Chicago-area green technology conference May 17, 2018. The event will feature speakers from MotorWeek, fleets, NTEA Managing Director Doyle Sumrall, automakers and more.   Learn more and register .
