Registration and housing open
The 20th annual Work Truck Show runs March 3–6, 2020, at Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. Educational sessions , Green Truck Summit , and Manufacturer and Distributor Innovation Conference begin March 3, and the exhibit hall is open March 4–6. XL acquires Quantum Fuel’s Electrification Division, appoints Kazarinoff as CEO
XL acquired the electrification division of Quantum Fuel Systems, an industry leader in alternative fuel systems for the automotive and heavy duty fleet industries. In addition, XL appointed Dimitri Kazarinoff, an accomplished transportation industry executive who has led impressive growth at Eaton Corporation and AVL Powertrain Engineering, as its new CEO. UPS adding 6,000 natural gas vehicles
UPS will purchase more than 6,000 natural gas-powered trucks beginning in 2020 and running through 2022. This three-year commitment represents a $450 million investment in expanding the company’s alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicle fleet as well as supporting infrastructure. Full story

Frito-Lay aiming for zero-emission Modesto facility
Frito-Lay says it is planning to replace all of its existing diesel-powered freight equipment with zero-emission and near-zero emission technologies at its Modesto, California, manufacturing site. Full story

Daimler Trucks & Buses partners on electric truck batteries
Daimler Trucks & Buses and battery manufacturer Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) have entered a global battery cell modules supply agreement for electric series trucks. Full story

SEA Electric leading the electric charge with first 100% electric tipper truck
While the EV race in the commercial vehicle space is well and truly on, Australian automotive technology company SEA Electric is leading the charge being first to market with the deployment of a 100 percent electric tipper truck.
