The Work Truck Show electrified for 20th anniversary
The atmosphere at The Work Truck Show 2020 was electric — and not just because it was the show’s 20th anniversary. Electrification was a major theme of the event, as the commercial vehicle industry gathered for what has become the annual launching pad for new vocational trucks, vans, chassis, engines, bodies and equipment. Verified attendance at North America’s largest work truck event was 13,675, down slightly from last year’s record and the second best in the event’s history. Full story
Electric Ford Transit van confirmed for 2022
The automaker has confirmed plans to introduce an all-electric Transit van in 2022. News of the vehicle was first revealed in last year’s UAW contract, which listed the model as one of the vehicles slated for Ford’s Kansas City Assembly plant, where the conventional Transits are made. Full story

Bollinger Motors unveils E-Chassis
Bollinger Motors has unveiled its patent-pending E-Chassis, designed with commercial applications and versatility in mind, notes the company. The E-Chassis is the same platform shared with the B1 Sport Utility Truck and the B2 Pickup, and it will accommodate future models and other trucks developed by Bollinger Motors. Full story

Washington adopts California zero-emissions mandate
The Washington State Senate passed SB 5811 this week, making it the 12th state to adopt and implement California's zero-emissions policy, according to Electrek. Now, the entire West Coast requires that at least 5% of all vehicle sales are electric vehicles (EVs). By 2025, EV sales must make up 8%. Full story

U.S. Postal Service contractor chooses propane for parcel deliveries
For the first time, some U.S. Postal Service packages are being delivered via emission-reducing propane autogas trucks. McAbee Trucking purchased eight Ford F-750 delivery trucks fueled by propane autogas, a domestically produced, clean and economical alternative fuel. Full story
