The 20th annual Work Truck Show runs March 3–6, 2020, at Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. Educational sessions , Green Truck Summit , and Manufacturer and Distributor Innovation Conference begin March 3, and the exhibit hall is open March 4–6. Motiv Power Systems secures $60 million
Provider of all-electric medium-duty chassis for buses and trucks, Motiv Power Systems announced it has secured $60 Million in equity funding. The Series B round of investment was led by investors GMAG Holdings Corp. and Winnebago. Full story

Hyundai unveils fuel cell truck, explores U.S. commercial vehicle market
Hyundai Motor Co. recently unveiled a hydrogen fuel cell truck and trailer combo. The company said it was considering entering the U.S. commercial vehicle market. Full story

Daimler to offer carbon-neutral trucks by 2039
Daimler Trucks & Buses has set for itself the lofty strategic goal of offering only new commercial vehicles that are carbon-dioxide (CO2) neutral while being driven (in what the company calls “tank-to-wheel” operation) in the so-called triad markets of North America, Europe, and Japan by 2039. Eaton testing EV transmission for commercial trucks
Eaton’s eMobility business plans to launch a 4-speed transmission for heavy-duty electric commercial vehicles. Designed for Class 7 and 8 commercial vehicles, the transmission is currently in the testing phase with major OEMs and is set to debut in 2022.  Full story

Peterbilt delivers first medium-duty electric model 220EV to Frito-Lay
Peterbilt Motors Co. has delivered the first Peterbilt Model 220EV to Frito-Lay. Six battery electric model 220EV medium-duty trucks will be used by PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay division as part of its Modesto, California, Zero- and Near Zero-Emission Freight Facility Project (ZANZEFF). Full story

Kenworth, Toyota partner on hydrogen fuel cell Class 8 trucks
Kenworth Truck Co. announced it is collaborating with Toyota Motor North America to develop 10 heavy-duty zero-emission Kenworth T680s powered by Toyota hydrogen fuel cell electric powertrains. The company also reported new developments related to advanced driver safety systems, over-the-air programming of trucks and chrome accessories. Full story

Navistar set to deploy electric-focused business unit
Navistar announced the launch a new business unit assembled to deliver a customized electrification solution to International’s truck and school bus markets. The goal of International’s NEXT eMobility Solutions, Navistar Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Persio Lisboa said, is to answer some of the uncertainly surrounding the deployment of electric trucks .
