New GTA Board Member Welcome
Jarett Gilbert is Vice President of Instructional Services at Columbia Gorge Community College.  In this role, he works with faculty, administrators, and staff to ensure students and the greater community have access to high-quality, market-relevant education and training.  Jarett began his career in higher education at New York University College of Dentistry, connecting international and domestic general practitioners with hands-on clinical experiences leading to new, specialized skills that would allow them to expand their dental practice. Welcome to the Board, Jarett!

Zepher Announces $4M Contract Award with Army Research Laboratory

Zepher has been awarded a sole source HUBZone contract by the Army Research Laboratory to directly support a USASOC effort.

The focus will be on researching technologies to improve the endurance and acoustic signature of UAS in austere environments. Zepher's work will focus specifically on the initial development of a Group 2 UAS, categorized as a system less than or equal to 55-pound gross takeoff weight, during a 12-month timeline. Virtual Training on Preventing COVID-19 Outbreaks Aug. 4 
Mid-Columbia Economic Resilency Team and Regional Solutions present Preventing the Outbreak of COVID-19 in Manufacturing, Food Processing and Other High Intensity Workplaces August 4 @ 9:00 am.  This free virtual training will focus on workplace safety and will provide tools and strategies to mitigate risk. Emergency Business Assistance Grants Still Available
Mid-Columbia Economic Development District (MCEDD) was granted $250,000 from Business Oregon to distribute COVID-19 Emergency Business Assistance Grants in Hood River, Sherman and Wasco Counties.  Grants will be disbursed on a first come, first-served basis with $100,000 each earmarked for Hood River and Wasco Counties and $50,000 for Sherman County.   For detailed requirements and application visit here. Apply by August 13th.
