Eligibility Requirements:

• Plan to enroll full-time in your junior year of study at an accredited four-year university in the United States in Fall 2023. Eligible students are finishing their sophomore year in Spring 2023 and will be considered juniors based on total number of credits earned at their institution by Fall 2023.
• Have four (4) semesters of full-time academic coursework remaining before graduating
• Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Have demonstrated a commitment to public service
• Plan to pursue a career in public service upon graduation*
• Be a United States (U.S.) citizen, U.S. permanent resident (holder of a Permanent Resident Card), or an individual granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA)

 * Public service can include careers in government, non-profit, or the private sector, ranging from school teachers, community organizers, social workers, entrepreneurs with ideas for socially impactful businesses, journalism, arts, and design — a range of fields through which people are committed to creating a more connected, just, and equitable world.

CIEE's Student Challenge

Students are encouraged to register in teams for CIEE's Student Challenge for the Global Internship Conference in June with the chance to win a trip to Berlin! This student competition allows teams of 3-4 to compete in a case competition to collaboratively solve a real challenge presented by industry partners.

Recruiting GT 1000 First-Year Seminar & GT 2000 Transfer Student Seminar Instructors and Student Team Leaders

Greetings! We are currently accepting applications for both instructors and student team leaders to teach GT 1000 or GT 2000 this fall semester. The seminars are an excellent way to help our incoming students get connected to people and resources here at Georgia Tech and for them to do some intentional exploration of their degree and career pathways, while cultivating leadership skills. Please consider applying to join the teaching team and referring others you think would be a good fit.

GT 1000 and GT 2000, Georgia Tech’s first-year and transfer student seminar courses, introduce new students to campus and support their successful transition to college. All sections utilize successful, experienced students as peer facilitators, referred to as “Team Leaders” (TLs). Team Leaders work closely with the instructor to promote small group interaction and offer advice and support to first-year and transfer students. TLs are volunteers, receiving no pay or academic credit. All students are eligible to apply, even if they haven’t participated in the program as a GT-1000/2000 student.

Education Abroad Barriers Survey

Education abroad programs are a great opportunity for students to engage globally and grow both professionally and personally through international experiences. We're encouraging students to participate in a diversity survey about education abroad. Your participation will play a crucial role in ensuring that these programs are inclusive and accessible to all students, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or any other aspect of their identity. By taking the survey, you'll have the opportunity to share your experiences and perspectives and provide valuable feedback to those who design and run these programs.

GA Tech Honor Advisory Council

The Georgia Tech Honor Advisory Council is looking to recruit new undergraduate advisors. Our mission is to promote the honor code and academic integrity around campus. Officers work on advising small groups, presenting ethics seminars, and hosting fun events (games, goody-bag giveaways, arts & crafts). This organization is a great way to build leadership skills, build connections on campus, and volunteer at local nonprofits. New Tutoring Option for CoE Students

We are pleased to share a new tutoring option for engineering students this semester. TAS has partnered with Knack, an app-based tutoring platform, to deliver peer tutoring for engineering courses. Please help us promote this option to your students! Tutoring is free, online, and can be scheduled at the convenience of the student + tutor. Students can sign up to be a tutor for courses in which they have earned an A at Tech, and completely manage their work hours. This provides much more flexibility than a current tutor position with TAS, and we hope it allows us to offer more tutoring in engineering. If our spring pilot goes well, we will expand to the full campus course directory. Students can request a tutor or sign up to be a tutor at gatech.joinknack.com.

In the portal you will find resource guides on options to prepare for the LSAT, how to pursue financial aid, writing your personal statement, and obtaining letters of recommendation. You’ll also find databases of internship and scholarship opportunities (scholarship opportunities coming soon!). A huge thank you to LST Program Assistant Alysia Gray for all of her work on this incredible project. These resources require you to login with your GT credential for access.

2023 Scotland Summer Program

Study abroad this summer in Edinburgh, Scotland! The six week GT program runs, tentatively, from June 5 (check-in) to July 22 (check out), 2023. The exact dates will be finalized in January. The program is limited to 50 students.
