Looking Back. Looking Forward.

As another summer comes to a close, we want to take a moment to thank our athletes, families, coaches, and supporters for making this season such a memorable one.

Together, we've celebrated achievements, embraced new challenges, built lasting friendships, and continued to grow as a team.

Every season reminds us that swimming is about much more than the clock. It's about developing confidence, learning resilience, building healthy habits, and discovering what can be accomplished through dedication and teamwork.

We are proud of every athlete who stepped onto the pool deck this year and grateful to every family who has been part of the GTS journey.

A Time to Recharge

As we head into our annual August break, we encourage everyone to enjoy the final weeks of summer. Time away from the pool allows our athletes, families, and coaches to rest, recharge, and return refreshed for the season ahead.

Whether you're traveling, spending time with family, or simply enjoying the Colorado sunshine, we hope you have a fun, safe, and relaxing break.

Coaching Updates

As we prepare for the new season, we would like to share an important coaching update.

After five wonderful years with Greenwood Tiger Sharks, Coach Andy will be relocating to the Washington, D.C. area and will not be returning for the 2026–2027 season. We are incredibly grateful for his dedication, leadership, and positive impact on our athletes and program over the past five years.

Please join us in thanking Coach Andy and wishing him continued success in this exciting new chapter.

A message from Coach Andy:

"Thank you to all of the swimmers and families for making these past five years such an amazing experience. I've loved watching our athletes grow and move on to high school, college, and beyond. I'll miss being on the pool deck every day, but I'm excited for what's ahead. I truly believe GTS is a special program, and I'm grateful I had the chance to be a part of it."

As one chapter closes, another begins...

We are excited to welcome two new coaches to the Greenwood Tiger Sharks coaching staff. They have already been on deck getting to know our athletes and preparing for an exciting start to the 2026–2027 season! Their enthusiasm, experience, and passion for athlete development have already made a positive impression, and we look forward to officially introducing them to the entire GTS community as we kick off the season on August 24, 2026.

We're also excited to enhance our athlete development program by adding two certified personal trainers to lead our dryland training. Their expertise in strength, mobility, injury prevention, and athletic performance will complement our swim training and provide athletes with additional tools for long-term success in and out of the pool.

Together, these additions reflect our ongoing commitment to providing a positive, well-rounded, and high-quality experience for every Greenwood Tiger Shark.

Looking Ahead to the 2026–2027 Season

We are excited to welcome both returning and new families as we prepare for another great year of Greenwood Tiger Sharks.

The upcoming season brings several exciting updates, including:

  • Welcoming new coaches and expanding our dryland coaching team!
  • Launching our new team website and registration platform. (Registration details will be sent out August 1, 2026)
  • Expanding the use of CrewLAB to support communication, goal setting, and athlete development.
  • Continuing our tradition of the GTS Arizona Travel Meet this November—one of our favorite team experiences and an opportunity to create new memories, build friendships, and achieve fast swims. (More information will be discussed at the Parent/Athlete Meeting)
  • Providing a positive, athlete-centered environment where swimmers of all ages and abilities can thrive.

While some things are evolving, the foundation of Greenwood Tiger Sharks remains the same.

Our mission is to help every athlete become the best version of themselves—both in and out of the water. We are committed to teaching excellent technique, encouraging personal growth, fostering respect, building confidence, and creating a supportive team environment where every swimmer feels welcomed, challenged, and inspired.

Whether your swimmer is joining us for the first time or returning for another season, we are excited to be part of their journey.

Thank You

Thank you for being part of the Greenwood Tiger Sharks community. Your enthusiasm, encouragement, and support help make our team a place where athletes can learn, grow, and enjoy the sport of swimming.

We look forward to seeing everyone back on deck soon as we begin another season together.

Until then, enjoy the remainder of your summer, and we'll see you at the pool!

Once a Tiger Shark, Always a Tiger Shark!

Warm regards,

The Greenwood Tiger Sharks Coaching Staff

Yes, It’s Summer… HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE!

With warmer days and more time in the water, your body needs plenty of hydration to stay energized for school, practice, and everything in between. Keep sipping, refill your bottle, and make hydration a daily habit!

Your body—and your swim strokes—will thank you.

Volunteers Make Swim Meets Possible

Swim meets rely on volunteers to help everything run smoothly. Roles may include timing, security, officiating, and hospitality, with timers being the most common and essential role for team families.

At every USA Swimming meet, participating teams are required to provide volunteer timers. If GTS is assigned timing responsibilities, volunteer timing assignments will be shared with families prior to the meet.

If you are new to timing or would like a refresher, please review the link below to learn what to expect.

For families who would like to become even more involved in the sport, we also encourage you to explore the information below on how to become a USA Swimming official. Your support helps create a positive and successful meet experience for all swimmers!

Thank You!

"A dream at any age is essential. Let's see where your journey will lead."

Thank you for being part of the Dream Team.

Together, we are building something truly special.

- Coach Genevieve

Swimmers are subject to testing by FINA (the international federation for aquatic sports), the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), and the International Olympic Committee (IOC). FINA frequently partners with the International Testing Agency (ITA) to carry out these tests.

This is particularly important as our athletes compete on larger stages nationwide, and it underscores our commitment to fair play and athlete integrity. Thank you for your understanding and support!

As our team continues to grow, we want to reinforce our one key rule: there is zero tolerance for negative behavior at GTS. This includes skipping swim practice and not cleaning up after oneself in the locker room.

As members of GTS, all athletes and families are expected to uphold the following principles:

RESPECT Yourself

RESPECT Coaches

RESPECT Teammates

RESPECT Equipment

By embracing these values, we can strengthen our team and create an unbreakable bond. Thank you for your cooperation!
