VERY IMPORTANT! US Rowing Registration:
All rowers who will be competing in Regattas need to register or renew with US Rowing by Wednesday night. Click HERE to register. You will be registering as an Individual. Click JOIN for a new membership and LOG IN for a renewal. The cost is $9.75.
Transportation: We are currently looking into transportation options including 12-15 passenger van rental but we may need volunteers to drive. There will be a short Zoom meeting this THURSDAY at 7:30 to discuss transportation details. Look for a REMIND text on Thursday with a link for the meeting.
Uniforms: Those who are rowing this weekend will need a uniform. Linda McCarthy and I will be at the Boathouse with uniforms THIS WEDNESDAY for purchase (cash, check, or venmo). We have a variety of sizes in our inventory, but did not order additional yet as we just recently got confirmation that regattas were on for this season. As uniforms take 5 weeks to order, we will need to work with what we have in our current inventory, but I believe we can make it work.
*We have a small selection of donated/gently used uniforms for anyone having financial challenges right now. Email Robin at firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
Swim Test: You must have passed the swim test before you can row in a regatta. Several rowers will need to take the test this Friday evening 4/9 at 8:00 at the Upper Main Line YMCA in Berwyn. This is the tentative time, we are awaiting confirmation. If you have not yet taken the test, please plan to take the test this Friday.
Please read through the Regatta information that was provided to us by the Philadelphia Scholastic Rowing Association.
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ATTEND AS A SPECTATOR. PSRA is VERY SERIOUS about disqualifying teams that are not adhering to this policy.
Below is important information about mitigation procedures for the Flicks and City Championships. Please share with your staff and parents.
MASKS: Everyone must wear a mask at all times, regardless of whether or not you have been vaccinated or already had COVID19. The exceptions are rowers on the water. A rower must have his/her mask on until the boat leaves the dock and at that time he/she may remove it. The mask must be put back on before the boat can dock after the race. Coxswains must wear a mask and shield during the race.
SPECTATORS: We (and the City Health Dept) are very serious about the no spectator rule. No tailgate tents or gathering of any kind are allowed. Yes, we know the park is public and anyone can walk in, but if anyone is observed spectating, they will be asked to leave immediately or their team will be disqualified for the day. Persistence could result in expulsion from all PSRA events.
HEALTH LIAISON: Every team is required to appoint someone as its Health Liaison. This can be a coach, parent, school official or volunteer. This person’s name and contact info needs to be submitted to me this week. This person is responsible for reporting to us any positive COVID cases on the team or staff, any quarantine of the team or the school and any detailed information regarding transmission (with the exception of personal identity as that is protected by law.) The PSRA is not requiring you to take temperatures before and after the regattas as stated in a previous document (although the Stotesbury Cup may do so.)
FOOD: NO food or drink will be dispensed at the venue. Each person must bring his/her own lunch, snacks and drinks to be consumed with their team and in their team space. No buffet style tables or picnics on the lawn are allowed.
PORTABLE TOILETS: We have ordered twice as many portable toilet units as we usually do. They will all be located on the lawn at St. Joe’s Boathouse. Units for officials only be be located in different areas. These units will be cleaned Saturday night and locked overnight. If you would like to order a unit exclusively for your team, you may do so by contacting Karen Jackson at National Rentals at 610-623-6860. Tell her you are with the PSRA regattas. You will be responsible for paying for this unit and labeling and locking it yourself. This unit will have to be placed on the lawn with the other units. It cannot go in the parking lot next to your trailer. Please be sure to bring your own sanitizers wipes, sprays, hand sanitizers.
TENTS: As stated there can be no team tents erected along the course. You may set up a small tent near your trailer if the weather is inclement.
LIVESTREAM: We hope to livestream the 2nd and 3rd Flicks and as always, City Championship.
PSRA GEAR: We will have one vendor who will sell PSRA T-shirts etc. They accept cash and credit cards.
