From Coach Emily: Head of the Christina
With a smaller group than we’re used to, we kicked off the fall racing season this past Sunday on our home course for Head of the Christina. Our only boat for the day, the boy’s varsity 4, came in right around the middle of the pack at 6th out of 13.
HOC is always a nice way to begin the season, having the comfort of the home course and sizing up some familiar competition. Across the board with the team we have room for improvement with aerobic preparedness, which isn’t terribly surprising- it’s not the fun training! From summers off, the main area of focus as we move forward will be finding the cohesive swing across boats and firming up the aerobic base that will help on these long fall races.
As we move forward through the season, we’re hopeful to get more team members races by getting access to smaller boats. Please be patient with us in this process and trust that we are moving as swiftly as possible to make this happen. Thank you all again for the support you provide to our athletes and our efforts as a team!

What to Expect at Regattas
Regattas can be a half day or an all day event depending on the number of boats GV Crew enters. The coaches decide which boats to enter in the regatta. Team members will know by the Friday practice if they will be rowing that weekend. A Remind text will be sent out the morning of the regatta giving you the location of our tent.
The Hospitality Tent is a gathering point for team members and parents to wait for their race and have a bite to eat. The Brinton's are hosting the Hospitality Tent this year and they will collect a small fee each week for those who take advantage of the tasty offerings. This amount can fluctuate a bit so just watch for future emails regarding the cost of the hospitality tent.

More info can be found HERE.
IMPORTANT: US Rowing Registration
All rowers will need to renew or obtain a US Rowing membership in order to compete in regattas. Please look for an email in the next day or two and complete the registration ASAP.
