Boathouse Update
We recently checked with the boathouse manager and as of right now, we are still on track for the dock to be repaired before the end of September, but hopefully sooner. Once the materials arrive, the dock can be built in a day or two.
Unfortunately, we cannot give an exact date yet, but you can be sure that both Great Valley and Upper Merion are doing all we can to make that happen ASAP. Thank you for your patience!

As you may know, we need "all hands on deck" to keep GV Crew "afloat".

All puns aside, please consider where you may be able to help. Below is a list of volunteer opportunities. You can fill an open spot (we'll help you) or you can contact someone on the list to see if they need help. When certain events, we'll put out another call for more specific opportunities to volunteer.

Program Director: JOHN BREWER -
The program director works closely with the coaches and the GV Crew Board of Directors to see that everything runs smoothly for GV Crew.

Fall Crew 2020
  • No experience necessary to row with GV Crew! Most rowers start in high school so it's a great sport for trying something new.
  • Boys & Girls Grades 8-12 can join GV Crew. Note: 8th graders can train and practice, but are not eligible to compete in the regattas.
  • There is NO TRANSPORTATION provided to practices or to our regattas in Philly, NJ and DEL. For safety reasons, crew will not help organize a carpool this season.
  • Land Practices will take place at Crossfit Inspire in Frazer.
  • We row out of the John S. Trinsey Jr. Memorial Boathouse in Bridgeport on the Schuylkill River, approximately 20 minutes from GVHS. (see directions below)
  • Practices begin on Monday, August 31, 2020. We will be starting with land practices MON/WEDS/FRI at Crossfit Inspire Frazer 3:15-4:15 and Saturdays 10-NOON
  • PLEASE NOTE:  This is a competitive rowing team, we need your full commitment to all practices. We need the whole team at every practice to ensure we are ready to get on the water once the boathouse reopens.
