Playoff Brackets Released

As we wind down the final regular season games of the GVBL Winter League, we will once again be holding the traditional double elimination playoff for each of the 3^rd through 8^th grade divisions. The divisional coordinators will be finalizing the standings in the coming week, however GVBL has posted the playoff schedules for everyone’s review.

Once again, we will be posting all of this to the GVBL app as well as in the news and updates on the basketball section of the gvco.org website.

Playoffs:

GVBL Boys HS division playoffs to begin this Friday

Final seedings have been determined for the BHS division. The single elimination playoffs are set to begin Friday, February 12^th. Please go to the GVBL app or www.gvco.org for the ongoing updated bracket and schedule information.

GV Crew Registration is open

Great Valley Crew Club is a co-ed rowing team for grades 8-12. This is a learn-to-row program that is great for beginners - no previous experience or tryouts to join the team!

GVHS Basketball News

The Great Valley Girls Basketball season has begun and the Lady Patriots are 2-2 to start off the season. Only a limited number of people are allowed to attend the games due to pandemic protocols, however all home games are being streamed on GV YouTube channel

This week’s schedule has the team playing at home Monday vs Avon Grove and Thursday vs Sun Valley.

The GVHS Boys team is currently 3 and 1. Their loss was a heartbreaker double-overtime game against Kennett. Their home games are livestreamed on the GVHS Athletics YouTube page, and on away team sites for away games. JV games are at 5:30PM and Varsity at 6:45PM.

GVCO Project Update

If you have passed by the new GVCO Community Center site on Bacton Hill Rd, you have begun to see the transformation of the property.

We built a storage shed, began fencing in the property and opened the practice field in the back of the site. Our GVFL football and GV Cheer groups both held programming at the site this fall.

We have also held a number of community and fundraising events throughout the fall. And you may have seen a good bit of equipment being relocated as we begin to mobilize for future site work at the facility.
